Re: Saints team v druggies
Taking it slow with Coffield and shame Van Es isn't in the squad and given Campbell isn't in either would mean we are likely going into Round 1 with one recognised ruckman

Re: Saints team v druggies
Not surprised Caminti selected ahead of Sharman - who I think is quite a long way down the pecking order.
Pleased to see Butler named on the bench. Needs a massive rocket.
Not sure how stocker gets a game - I thought he was very average last week. Would have preferred to see Campbell get a few minutes.
Phillipou and Owens - geez i really hope we get a few mins each quarter when they are both on fire simultaneously. It will be mouth watering!

I wouldn't read too much into the listed team, Webster is fullbackZed wrote: ↑Thu 02 Mar 2023 10:24pm Not surprised Caminti selected ahead of Sharman - who I think is quite a long way down the pecking order.

Re: Saints team v druggies
They are both in the team.
They essentially are competing for different positions, but with overlap.
The Hammer is more a potential key forward. Sharman is more your "Third Tall".

Yep, struggling with the one ruck decision. Flogging Marshall before a long season seems criminal.

Suspect Cordy will second ruck.

Re: Saints team v druggies
I think Roman will take it easy for most of the game. He knows he can’t get injured. Due to lack of choice we are playing youngsters who aren’t ready yet and they will get found out soon enough. That’s not an insult neither more that they will go against experienced campaigner with bigger bodies. They will learn heaps but get owned a lot so I’m really excited for 2024 after they have a dozen games under their belts

Re: Saints team v druggies
its a practice game.
Campbell needs to get minutes on ground, as does Coffield - hence play int he 2s and get full game time.
Don't read too much into anything a couple weeks out

Re: Saints team v druggies
RL will be trying to settle some kind of forward line out of what we have, before the real stuff starts, so it will be interesting to see what happens today. I expect the druggies will try and run us off our feet after seeing how slow our midfield was last week.
