Compared to last years pre-season, the Saints are looking a slower outfit. They stopped running with five minutes to go

The only good thing is that this is being benchmarked against a T4 team. No point playing North,
Dawks or another sh1tter - you might as well know how far away you are.
That said - a forward line consisting of anyone over 190cm would be useful and also, 4 months of pre-season = Jo change in hitting a target.

Whatever they've been working on over summer it's apparent that they haven't got it settled. We look stodgy, hesitant, slow, and disorganised. It's ugly

1 of the 2 goals we kicked for the half was a Joe The Goose out the back to Cordy.
That’s a repeatable in-season formula.

Look at method; not outcome. FMD. We’re not even in the same solar system as Melbourne; let alone on the same planet.
And also, this is our fwd line reality until
r7. This is not a drill.

Our skills have been poor during pre-season training from all reports ... did we expect to see a turnaround from that?

It's the inability of players forward of the ball to work into space quickly. There have been very few clean possessions, as well. Our mids have been non existent.
I'm not concerned about the scoreboard. I'm concerned about the apparent lack of understanding between the players. It's like a washing machine versus a Ferrari

It would be folly to have expectations with St Kilda.
Ross might give them a bake during the break and they'll come out in the next quarter and perform like an AFL team.
How many defenders will The Saints pick in the 2024 draft ?

As ex-president Peter Summers said:
“If we are going to be a contender, we may as well plan to win the bloody thing.”
St Kilda - At least we have a Crest!

On bigfooty there is a poster who already wants to sack RTB. I'm not in complete disagreement.

This. Counts for nothing. Doubt we'll even set up that way in round one.
Still waiting for closure ... if you get my drift.

Have they changed hands in the back rule in marking contests? Gawn does it every time and gets away with it.

Bloody obvious that Gawn pushes his opponent in the back in every marking contest and never gets penalised

The best passage was in Q2, Higgo with the free 50 out drops it 20 out on Butler's head surrounded by May, Lever and Gawn. Words fail.
