Certainly disappointing to lose Geoff Walsh but as someone has pointed out, he did what the Board had asked him to do so we can be grateful for his contribution. It's not the end of the Earth and he may well be consulted on an ad hoc basis if things don't go according to plan.

I don't have an opinion on David Misson other than being aware that he has had a wealth of experience in elite team sport and is highly regarded for his strong leadership qualities. He may well work out to do a great job as head of football, time will tell.

It's also worth noting that Graeme 'Gubby' Allan played 141 games for Fitzroy and Collingwood and has a distinguished record as a very good administrator.

It’s the age of conceit isn’t it? Suspended conceit and plausible deniability.

Is there a single person I under 60 or maybe 100 for all I know, who doesn’t have the merest doubt that if not every single player and indeed every human, at least 80% have not messed with substances in their life, and that a significant percentage do for recreation, sport or more recently, for cognitive advantage* on a regular basis?

* use of Adderall, Ritalin, Concerta just for mental edge at work, school etc.

You're quite brilliant Shane, yeah..terrific!

Chuckled at the headline..."Compounds Mightily Unsettled St Kilda".

The article almost, almost seems to put a question mark over the departure.

Could we look at someone like David Noble as head of football, I am aware he is at another club but I am sure we could prise him away it happens all the time.
Also I was at training on Friday Geoff Walsh walk past us he was intently watching the training then we saw him later on the balcony still intent on the training and I also here he was there Monday as well, then on Tuesday he is gone.
Its a bit strange that if there was a family member ill he wouldn't be at training, I really hope there was not something else going on.

Exactly nobody questions you then.
Was this the plan to get David Misson in the job so Ross has his people in the right positions.
Lets see if the club gets someone else in or if Misson keeps the job, as I have herd no talk of a replacement.
I really hope I am wrong with the conspiracy theory but it is a big convenient.
If it is true I really hope his family member recovers well.

Apparently Ross had Walsh in a headlock at training insisting he resign or he’d give him a wet Willy …

David Noble is not at another football club, he has left the football industry and is now the CEO of the Dick Johnson Racing team.

I doubt he would quit his new career to come back to football.

I'm a fan of Rossy, but I also like GT. Despite that there is no room for both of them in the same Footy Dept.

Can GT take criticism or contrary views on board. Really take it on board and modify. Does not seem a measured personality? Strong and clever and skilled and committed but could he fit in a modern football department where real collaboration and empathy are prerequisites? Wouldn't mind him running Defence Department Procurement but perhaps not coach Saints again.

GT certainly is opinionated & for what its worth loves the club, loves his own voice and loves trying to influence...but 200 million in the bank & 20yrs later...hes not REALLY looking to work again.

Not surprised to read that media "experts" are going to take potshots at our footy club after Walsh' sudden departure.

Don't they know that Walsh is not the type to walk away from his responsibilities unless there were compulsive family reasons for him to spend time at home to support whoever it is that needs it?

Point is that Walsh in the very brief period he's been at Moorabbin has set in place the infrastructure that will make St Kilda 'relevant in the industry' again for both the short and medium term.

And for that I for one am extremely grateful!

It's now up to Ross Lyon & Co to once gain get the team become a strong force in the competition.

Will the club be getting in someone else to do Walsh job, and if so who?
I like ross but I really think we need a independent strong person in that role not a mate of Ross Like mission, he has his own job to focus on.
