Congrats to Darragh
A real pro in the way he goes about it, solid player and will replace Adams in their side.
An example of how a player not getting a game at a bottom club can go to a top club and get a game
Every list is different in its make up.
Good luck to him, terrific team man and person
Has he been picked up has he?
And apparently he’s already played games for Brisbane you say?
He's so damn good he replaced 2 players...sits in defence eating sangers and taking hangers.
All cheek aside he wasn't one I thought we'd drop. In my mind he was played haphazardly and out of position. He's a good kick and competes...but not a chase & punch guy. I always wanted him in a high forward or centre forward spot. Anyway, a mate reckons...because he knows everything, that Joyce made 2 comments that sealed his fate with the Wokers. He had zero hope of recovery according to me mate.
Who knows?
It’s funny… I remember when he started with us, he played a bit more as a running tall, play maker type (in terms of style). He looked decent enough in training etc and he had a few games early in that role that were lacklustre but ok.
Then at some point we changed him to a defender and he was an absolutely terrible defender. Close to one of the worst we’ve had on our list IMO.
I still remember his effort against Hawthorn 2 years ago… ball kicked forward over the pack to a 1v1… Joyce’s opponent took 2 steps forward, jumped and marked almost uncontested with Darragh completely losing him and not being able to offer a spoil that connected with the man.
Completely lost in a basic contest - marked pretty much unopposed.
Maybe a move to a different part of the ground was the ticket - may have better suited his skill set. I always thought with guys like Joyce, they need to get more used to dynamic play as opposed to doing strictly defensive work and not developing.
Interesting thing about the comments.
Be interesting to see how he goes
