Who wants what for 2023
From afl.com.au
ROSS LYON (St Kilda)
Let Mattaes Phillipou loose. Amid all the excitement around St Kilda's off-season recruits, it's worth remembering none of the legends who have returned to the club in recent months will take to the field in 2023. One man who will, however, is No.10 draft pick Phillipou, who already looms as a potential fan favourite for a supporter base that has been crying out for something – or someone – to get excited about. With a booming left foot and an attitude to match, Phillipou will add plenty of flair and excitement to the club, with Lyon's task to properly harness his undoubted potential. – Martin Smith

Re: Who wants what for 2023
Bailey Smith of the Bulldogs played all 23 games in 2019 ... which was the year immediately following his draft year (2018).
We could see Phillipou doing something similar ... why not?
He could even rest forward ... and be eased into the midfield that way.

There you go, people with far greater insights into players than I possess agree with my previously expressed views on this forum that "Winnie" (The Pou) is going to be the biggest thing St Kilda have done in decades....no need to treat him with kid gloves or wrap him in coton wool, if the kid can play than let him loose!!saynta wrote: ↑Sun 01 Jan 2023 10:30am From afl.com.au

Re: Who wants what for 2023
The club lists Phillipou as 190 and 89. His draft profile says 192 and 82.
He is quick, he can kick, he is over 80kg and quite wirey. The kid is a beast at 18. He could play this year.
A 6'3 quick, lean, booming, straight, left foot kick, high half forward/wing. Unleash the kid.

Re: Who wants what for 2023
I want a few things:
1. Beat The Injectors by a big margin
2. Don't lose any games by big margins
3. Improve goal accuracy (Higgins, mate...)
4. Improve efficiency inside F50 so that we get a goal more often than we normally do
5. Finish above Blues
6. Play 4 goddam quarters and don't concede lots of goals in the final 6 minutes of each quarter
I know it's a huge ask, but please please please

You may be granted 4., a bit of 3 (but not the Higgins bit) and half of 6 - the final 6 minutes effort bit.WellardSaint wrote: ↑Tue 03 Jan 2023 2:51am I want a few things:

Like to hope for more, but with Max out and the "forwards" we have it is going to be tough. But hey, if you don't ask.

Re: Who wants what for 2023
Ben King to put off contract talks or sign with GCS only up to RFA.
Sharman to step up to the responsibility of replacing Max in the first six rounds.
Our #1 midfield not consisting of all of Steele, Crouch and Ross.
Our back 6/7 working as one with the three amigos, Paton, Coffield and Clark as part of it.
A Max Heath debut.

Well I want a premiership.
Wouldn't that be fun.
