Yes, we had to make a change. Ratts had fallen out with more than one of his fellow officials.. but was he the best available.
I don't know the answer to that.
Lyon and his vision of our 2023 game style.

You fraud. Deep down you are really a sentimental softy. You couldn't have been as successful as you have been and be always mean. And you go out of your way to pass on useful news to us unworthies. Which is appreciated.

Well. I was prepared to live and let live until some total obnoxious ass wipe started to distort the truth in order to make his hero look good and turn his fuckups into positives.
Not on AFAIC.

Re: Lyon and his vision of our 2023 game style.
2009? that is so far in the rear vision mirror I can hardly see it.
The real juicy part is in front of us.
Many questions and arguments will be answered very soon not least of all:
Where will Lyon procure all of the talent needed to bridge the gap between a perennial bottom 8 side with one cup in 150 years to a sustained top four flag winning side?
Can he rebuild a list 2nd time around?
The only other mildly interesting question is what type of game plan will Lyon deploy, because as everyone knows you can't deploy an A grade game plan in an elite comp to win the ultimate prize WITHOUT the right amount of talent. Take Luke Hodge's and Danger's comments on the importance of a game plan at the AFL level, these two players believe there is barely any difference between the 18 clubs and their specific game plans, they believe the main difference between bottom 4 and top 4 is having the required talent to EXECUTE. Captain obvious stuff I know but it's our elephant in the room so worth mentioning.
To illustrate the point, the "bomb it long to FF" is a set play at most clubs, and for a laugh just visit any club's fan forum to read the endless and mind numbing whinging, so apologies in advance if you thought we invented the set play. Ironically a play used to beat the press and zone AND also when you don't have the talent to execute a game plan based on talent and skill...hence why Saints fans have seen the set play more than most clubs since 2012.
It raises another question: will we see the "bomb it long to FF" set play deployed by Lyon in 2023?

Guys, there are several suspension worthy posts in this thread, by multiple posters. One post has been reported.
Option 1 : Suspend multiple posters for up to a week.
Option 2 : Lock thread and/or suspend multiple posters for a week.
Option 3 : Everybody leaves aside the belittling, name calling and baiting and are civil to one another.
Going for option 3

Looking forward to seeing rtb properly utilise our previously squandered talented list using an A grade game plan

Don’t feed the pelican trolls…they’ll be there when the chips are down….slapping RTB on the back if we go well…,
As for the failed Denis Denuto so-called Lawyer who haunts the site like a parasite ……well there’s no substitute for senility (or asswipes!)
Stay strong.

Can I suggest just make an example of the squib who runs to mods weekly and ban that git?? (we all know it’s Saintsationals own failed lawyer Denis Denuto??)
If not, let’s ban people for derailing a thread by answering questions irrelevant to the original topic just to show us all they really don’t know much.
Anyhoo appreciate the work you do and if you need a mod deputy I’m happy to help - I’ll have this site clean in 30 minutes….or less….

Re: Lyon and his vision of our 2023 game style.
Though I’m not a particularly big fan of RTB, I’d at least like to see him struggle for a sustained period after having opportunity to turn things around before I start declaring version 2.0 a failure.
My harshest criticism tends to be reserved for those that have had long enough to do better and have shown an inability to do so… o guess I’m funny like that

Re: Lyon and his vision of our 2023 game style.
I align with this however I'm a fan.
I'd like to see Ross struggle OR not struggle for a sustained period before I declare anything about this latest circus act by the club.
Just got to the point and realisation that it wouldn't matter who the coach is when it comes to St Kilda, the common denominator of failure is St Kilda itself. Ironically we will be celebrating 150 years of existence in 2023 and with the exception of Alan Jeans we have proved more than any other sporting organisation in the world that replacing a coach achieves absolutely nothing.
And yet here we are again, all thinking this new coach has a magic trick that no nother coach has ever possessed and can turn a spud into a roast dinner.
So I remain open to the possibility magic happens.

Swaggart is a con artist ripping money of the gullible, just like a few others. I reserve judgment on our new coach.
