I am not sure if I am right correct me please if I am not but can we put Ming on Long term injury list and therefor be able to ad all three to the list.
Having see Eyre at training last Friday I really think he should be on the list he has a mature body and could fill multiple positions like KPD,KPF, and Ruck something the young guys barring Van Es who should play round 1 could do straight away.
long term injury probably does not start until the season begins,

I’d be happy to take Stack & Stocker..different types but both potentially provide value..just don’t think Eyre is AFL standard.

Stack in top form way better than Ben Long, he's a potential match winner, Long has mostly been just average ...lacks consistency.

Subjective opinion there from you.

How many "consistent" games of seniors has Stack played in a single season versus Ben? I'll tell you

Stack played 9 games in 2020 and 7 in 2021 and only 2 senior AFL games this current season

What do the facts say? Check their averages and compare

Stack versus Long in 2020 is a good measure because Stack played his most games

Check the website 'footywire' and compare current player for Gold Coast (Ben Long) for most recent current season versus current player for Richmond (Stack) for current season. Ben's averages are better

For the first 3 years of his career you also have to factor in that Ben was playing under Richo in a bottom of the ladder team.

better to compare him with players currently on our list, he would come in as a fringe player needing to push in front of current VFL and fringe players, can he skate past Bytel, Byrnes, Connelly and Perris, that's step one if he can, then who can he push out of the best 22, probably Paton, Higgins, Buttler would be on his radar as he has previously been considered a utility type, probably could put pressure on older players in Sebby and Jones on that basis only if he's good enough. Has inside mid capabilities and hunts goals, exactly what our midfield needs.

Worth a speculative pick on a 12 month contract.

Just checked his numbers

For a ‘gun’ he hasn’t done much

Never averaged 10 possessions a game in any season

2.7 tackles

Exactly why is he highly rated - he’s done FA

Some comparative stats from 2021. Draw from them what you will.

2021 Stack vs Shai Bolton
https://www.footywire.com/afl/footy/ft_ ... 021&type=A

2021 Stack vs Ben Long
https://www.footywire.com/afl/footy/ft_ ... 021&type=A

2021 Stack vs Dustin Martin
https://www.footywire.com/afl/footy/ft_ ... 021&type=A

Disposal efficiency at 80% stands out as do marks.
Like the idea of a player who can kick.

Stack averaged 16.7 possessions as a 20-21 year old in 2021, over 7 games, playing mainly as a defender.
That's not a bad average for a small defender ... by comparison Paton averaged 14.7 possessions.
Stack also has better disposal efficiency.

Which means he probably ends up with 4 more effective disposals on average than Paton.

He looks to be a player that would do well around half forward or running forward of centre... that's probably where we'd play him?

We need young playmakers ... why not?

Especially ones that could pinpoint passes into the F50.

And here's one of his rare games forward-of-centre in 2019 ... what was he only 19?

Sorry, my mistake

I mistook kicks for possessions

I did some more research, he’s had a hell of an upbringing!

Has trouble with the booze, serious fitness and application issues

It seems he can play a bit, we are trying to build an elite culture though… and he is a problem

Will be interesting to wat h this one play out. Would be great for him and us if he can follow the regime we’ve set and prove his want for the game
Sounds like he’s got his vices but who doesn’t?! Let’s see if a fresh start doesn’t give him the opportunity to clean slate it and prove himself

Stack is same age as Stocker. Their game stats are similar, with Stack ahead. Both appeared to give very little in 2022. But Stack has elite written all over him. Compare the highlight reels.

Stack's "indiscretions" are way over blown IMO. Comparison's to other known wayward players totally undeserved. Got in trouble twice (breaking covid curfew and fisty cuffs with another kid around his age. Who knows what was said etc) and he paid for it very dearly. Punishment didn't meet the crime.

Stack comes across as a very nice and determined kid. In one youtube interview he said that moving to Melbourne was one of the best things that happened to him. Very keen to revive his AFL career. Could be anything - has similarities to Bolton and dare I say Dustin Martin.

If he ends up at another club he will be the one that got away and it will come back to haunt us.

Geoff, Ross, if you are out there, don't mess about, get onto it.

totally overblown...especially that stupid penalty he paid for a COVID breach, the AFL should have to compensate him for that one.

Aunty Katrina can put a wing over him and make sure he settles in. All the things are in place here in Melbourne. Good to go. Come on down Syd cant wait to see you in the red white and black. I reckon you are one very important piece of the Saints road to a premiership puzzle. Can't wait.
