Re: Sydney Stack ?
A piss head
Didn’t we learn from Lovett
Haven’t we got enough HBs
We just lost a 202cm power forward
How about replacing him?!

Also reported on Zerohanger.

Same article quoting Kane Cornes suggesting that we should look at offering Josh Kennedy a spot as a short term replacement for Ming.

Re: Sydney Stack ?
From whats been reported Stocker is not setting the world on fire with his running. Perhaps Stack may offer more?

Re: Sydney Stack ?
I’m happy to have a look.
This is not the same case as Lovett, as the cost would be nothing other than a small salary, and a list spot.
I would prefer to wait until the end of 2023, and see if he can sort his stuff out like Stengle though.

Re: Sydney Stack ?
The bloke can play but will need to knuckle down & show he is for real or he will be just another wasted talent . IMO anyway

Re: Sydney Stack ?
Why are we looking at more mids, we should be searching for a Key Forward, i don't know which tree they grow on but that's the recruiters job.
How many defenders will The Saints pick in the 2024 draft ?

Re: Sydney Stack ?
It sucks that King and Hayes will miss the start of the season but overall the stocks on the list are pretty deep
Dedicated key forwards:
King
Membrey
Hayes
Sharman
Keeler
Allison
Can play key forward/pinch hit:
Wood
Marshall
Battle
Campbell
Heath
Cordy
I'd be more inclined to look for a youngish but AFL ready ruckman for depth. If Marshall and Campbell go down at any point we're screwed. Don't think we'd be winning any games with Heath and Hayes as our ruck combo.

Re: Sydney Stack ?
Stack is a genuine utility player, can play in all 3 parts of the ground, strong, tough and skilled.. yes a bit of a risk off field but we’ve been a passive team for too long..need some grunt!

Re: Sydney Stack ?
I'd back Rossy in to get this guy's head right, look at what he did for Michael Walters at Freo...
Just a reminder of how good this guys is:-

Re: Sydney Stack ?
With the way we just changed coaches I'd say the club is up for risk taking...I actually am excited about how risky it's getting, we might as well give it a go, nothing else has worked for 150 years.

Stocker looked alright to me yesterday..he and Stack would add much needed physicality to our squad.Impatient Sainter wrote: ↑Fri 09 Dec 2022 6:10pm From whats been reported Stocker is not setting the world on fire with his running. Perhaps Stack may offer more?

Re: Sydney Stack ?
If we have only 2 list spots and ask stack to train does that mean we would probably cut the 198cm Aye from Essendon who we asked to train and retain stocker and stack or is there any way we could keep all 3 of them?

He’s probably exactly what we need minus the behavioural issues.

It'll be interesting to see where he goes. Wouldn't be shocked if the cats pick him up. Good culture and right support structure. Probably end up with him playing as an A grade mid - which would make me happy and so very sad all at once."

Re: Sydney Stack ?
Plenty to gain having 3 players battle it out for two spots, will keep Stocker & Eyre honest.

Re: Sydney Stack ?
Ok thanks but what happens when King comes back can the extra player stay as I really think we need Eyre for his size especially now that Keeler is also down.

Re: Sydney Stack ?
Yep worth a shot, wouldn't cost much and remember we were all in on De Goey for a bucket load more cash and similar behavioural traits.
