Maybe he can't run so far because of his constant coffin'. Perhaps next time someone Mason Wood should run behind him carrying a bag of garlic and holding a wooden stake. That'd get him moving
Take these in context. Matt Allison didn’t finish last but is still to debut. The top 5 in Wood’s group though are a higher chance to feature in round 1.

Hmmm.....Stocker last. An issue at Carlton was his poor tank, hence not playing midfield time there. Looks like there's quite a job for our fitness team to get to him AFL standard fitness. Would have thought he would have spent the off season absolutely hammering himself regarding fitness
What about if he had a mild dose of covid? Let's not crucify him so early

Im sure if he was crook he would of sat out the run, lets not make excuses for a guy who isnt even on our list. His lack of endurance or capacity to improve his endurance was why he was delisted. For me it raises warning signs, if he was serious about winning a spot he should have been smashing out big km's since he left Carlton. A 3km run is not a significant distance to run at 3/4 speed if he has done the work.
I was hoping he would come in and prove his Carlton critics wrong, lets hope he can. He will have more time to prove himself, but if he wants to earn a spot as a midfielder he has some work to do.
If Stocker is going to be picked, I believe we wouldnt expect him to be in top condition.
In fact, pushing himself to perform may just be the reason he hasn't reached full fitness/development in his career so far.
If you are going to take a recycled mid twenties Ist round draft pick, instead of an 18 year old, and you get him cheap, you may as well give him 20 weeks of training and 6 or so VFL games to get himself right and be fit and ready to go by mid season.
A bit premature to judge Stocker's potential, a 3k run is hardly indicative of a player's overall strengths or abilities, let's wait and see how he goes at training sessions before they break up for the festive season and through January. Kick-off is still over 3 months away!
"Any candidate for political office, once chosen for leadership, must have the will to take the wheel of a very powerful car, tasked from time to time to make a fast journey down a narrow, precipitous mountain road – and be highly skilled at driving. Otherwise, he is disqualified from the company of competent leaders."
John Carroll, Professor Emeritus of Sociology at La Trobe University.
Anyway, Windhager is gonna be something special.
The 19 year old chases down the seasoned veteran runner, in his 2nd pre season over 3k. So, I'm not too phased about Stocker at the moment. Although, he adds depth and still has upside IMHO. Lol

How did Stocker manage to win the Morrish medal as a midfielder, given his average level of fitness?
There is no shortage of articles (whether true or opinion) on Stocker and his ability or inability to hit AFL level fitness.
Surely we do not need another small - medium defender/ half back type with Paton, Webster, Sinclair, Clark, Coffield and perhaps Billings, Ross and Jones playing there at times and potentially NWM and Hill as options.

Where did Sinclair finish?
Hasn't he won it nearly every year he has been at the club?
Sinclair backed off a couple of years ago, he has put in a few kg of muscle in that time and it shows, in a beautiful balance of skill, agility, power, speed and stamina.
