Re: Cat B rookie. Big welcome Angus.
Congrats Angus.
He is testament of a kid who missed out last year, but put his head down and worked hard this year and now has his opportunity. I think he will surprise a few at how good and composed player he actually is! He won the Sandringham Dragons player of the finals award, in a GF winning team. Which is quite an acheivement in that star studded side.

From Cairo to Moorabbin. Worth a look and a read.

So he’s in the academy because he lived in Cairo as a kid. But he was back in Melbourne playing under 11s.
On what basis was McKenzie in? Not that it mattered in the end.
It all seems a bit shonky.

P.S.: I agree it is a bit shonky and that was exposed with Ugle-Hagen before the AFL corrected it but the Saints exposed the "after pick 20" bidding system to it now being "after pick 40".
Now for the AFL to wind back the NSW / QLD teams "Development Academy" gifts...won't be holding my breath.
