Re: Welcome Isaac Keeler
I think it will be pretty obvious early if he has any talent.
Spencer White was gone within 2 years.
He doesn’t have 5 years.

Re: Welcome Isaac Keeler
Spencer White didn't have his heart in it. I just hope Keeler has the hunger for the game. He's a big fan of Paddy Ryder, so get Ryder down to the club to do some mentoring. It would surely benefit the kid.

Re: Welcome Isaac Keeler
From his highlights package, Keeler has a lot more tricks than Spencer White ever did.

Re: Welcome Isaac Keeler
My point exactly. SW had talent.
I hope we don’t see a repeat here.

Good to see that Nas and Isaac are related. Should see they keep playing together...at the Saints.

Re: Welcome Isaac Keeler
SW was a a pick in the 20's IK is a pick in the 40's IMO not as much to lose pick wise but everything to gain if we can keep his head in the right space . As I said earlier if you can harness the talent & make him comfortable in his environment who knows what he is capable of . Could be a Spencer White or a Josiah Kyle but nothing ventured nothing gained & at pick 44 as someone else said a steal

Re: Welcome Isaac Keeler
Many players are Drafted
Some go into illustrious AFL careers
Many do not - including higher Draft picks
All Clubs have successes - and they have failures
The Draft is primarily about selecting players based on performance at Under 18 level
Hence the success and failure rate
However, in regard SA at least, the Under Age sides are tied to the SANFL Clubs
So if these kids are really good prior to reaching Draft age they are available for selection at League level (and Seconds level)
And that would be the measure of their abilities
As a reference, James Aish had played in 2 Senior premierships ahead of being of age to be drafted, and in the second of those was joined by Dumont and Fantasia
The next season all 3 were playing at AFL level
So my caustic assessment is, have they shown sufficient to represent at Senior level - or did they come from the Under age competition
Michalanney was omitted ahead of the Senior Grand Final just a couple of months ago (a seasoned, experienced player taking his position)
All things are relative

Didn't know Avondale Heights was in South Wales. Based on your reasoning, Richard Burton was born in Dandenong

Indeed. Halfway between the towns of Llanelli and Carmarthen, just a few km from where the poet Dylan Thomas was born

Yep. Knew all about that. We've have a good chuckle over that over the years. The only famous person ever linked to our entire family was a hooker.
