season 1998 footage query

Post: # 1989223Post langers1971 »

Hey Guys

Hopong that someone on here can maybe assist me

I am searching for a 1998 home and away game, either on vhs or dvd, but i need the full game.

The game in question is 1998 r11 v Richmond at VFL Park.

It was the Queens Birthday monday game in front of a huge crowd, and after a slow start, the Saints trailled at Qtr time by 34 points, ended up winning by 27 points

There is about 50 minutes of it on youtube, but i am after the full game. I have contacted ch 7, the competing clubs, all with no luck

If anyone can help me out, then please get in touch.

many thanks

This was a very underrated game. The 50 min of this game that is available on YT is worth watching. Huge crowd of over 71,000 at Waverley Park. It was a great atmosphere.

Season 1998 was a lot like 2022 in so many ways.

It was a terrible end to the season. I was in Queensland on holidays with my kids and went to the Round 22 loss to Brisbane in Brisbane. We drove home via Sydney and went to the loss to Sydney in the first week of the finals. By the following week I was back in Melbourne and went to the loss to Melbourne in the 2nd week of the finals. And our season was over ….

The Brisbane game.

Was that the one where Stewart Loewe took the ball out of the ruck, took 2 steps, siren sounded as he kicked the goal that would have won us the game?
