On paper, a ripping draft for us.
Let our coaches go to work on that lot

Exactly who I would’ve drafted at EVERY pick
First time ever - satisfied with every selection
If they don’t work out - at least they took the right kids
Development is now key

Yep. I agree.
No left field picks that have us scratching our heads.
The consensus seems to be a good draft.
What have we become?
This is not the St Kilda I recognise.

Re: Draft shortlist for tonight
Very pleased with tonight.
Van Es is huge and super quick, Keeler moves like a midfielder, Hotton looks smart and has good evasive skills as well as speed.

Re: Draft shortlist for tonight
Ditto...could not have hoped for better selections with that draft pick hand. We have very quickly secured a good bunch of kids in two drafts.
Add a (R) F.A. or two over the next couple of years and our list should be balanced and strong.

Re: Draft shortlist for tonight
Certainly looks like the club has drafted very well, it's now up to the Saints development coaches to help them progress to playing AFL.
How many defenders will The Saints pick in the 2024 draft ?

Re: Draft shortlist for tonight
FWIW, most of the opposition fans on BF seem to think we were the big winners in this draft.
The only caveat being, that they are all on the high risk side rather than the safe and predictable side.
So development will be the key.
Last two drafts may well be the reset we need to have a crack.

I don't think we did ,we had our second round pick & the Ben Long pick could be wrong though

Yes not sure we had pick 47 but ended up with 44 and pick 60 when we didn't have any picks in our 60s just a thought.bangaulegend wrote: ↑Tue 29 Nov 2022 10:31pmI don't think we did ,we had our second round pick & the Ben Long pick could be wrong though

The numbers change due to matching bids for father son and academy picks.Saints58 wrote: ↑Thu 01 Dec 2022 4:39pmYes not sure we had pick 47 but ended up with 44 and pick 60 when we didn't have any picks in our 60s just a thought.bangaulegend wrote: ↑Tue 29 Nov 2022 10:31pmI don't think we did ,we had our second round pick & the Ben Long pick could be wrong though
In the early picks the numbers are pushed back when clubs match and later they move the opposite way when the picks that matched come out of the draft.
