Thanks, that little snippet has allayed my fears. At 17 with his size already, he could become anything he wants from midfield to forward.

Geez, a growth spurt may see him bigger than some of our key position players.

Genuinely excited...nothing beats the hope of the draft period.

I wouldn’t be too worried. I still call it Colonial.

If all these kids come on we could have a very handy midfield unit in the not too distant future - skill, size, speed etc. :D

He is bottom age, so a big move

Remember these are very young kids so to expect domination at AFL level from day 1 is not realistic

The skill will be there but they have to grow into their bodies such that they can compete against men who are very well seasoned

As I said, his Grandfather, Peter, was very polished - from his days at Henley High, who had a pretty fair side at the time. Henley High was our local public high school so I knew plenty who went there - and still do

I have just been reminded that Henley High were unbeaten one year with Peter in the side including winning their annual match against Blackburn High (yes, Victoria) for the first time in 4 years

The team photo and the School Magazine write up from the time have been sent to me would you believe

There always seems a reason for being reminded of life events - now who St Kilda have drafted is the catalyst to light up my phone

If that's the case he shouldn't have entered the draft.

I don't believe that will be the case now he is here. If it was the case.

Did he really say he didn't want to play for the Saints?
Not that I am aware.

Err what, surely you do not mean this guy...

"I've always been a guy that's wanted to go to one club and have a long career there,” Phillipou said.

“I've studied Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan quite heavily coming through, being a basketball guy, looking at those two characters they're very loyal and that's how I aspire to be like with whichever club I get drafted to.

Ross the boss. Nice to see him welcome the kid. But lots of hard, tough work awaits. I hope MP is up for it. I think he is.
