Is Deliveroo still a sponsor?

They have gone into administration and are pulling out of Australian Operations.

Hope they don’t owe us or our former captain any coin.

Good to hear they are no longer a sponsor.

It’s a dirty business.

Piecemeal work.

Slave wage rates.

They treat their workers like shite.

Good riddance.

🤮

Is there a big market for ears to be delivered?

How much do you make per Uber Eats delivery? I just can't for the life of me figure out how the driver, Uber and the food outlet all make money out of it!

Lol sorry about the Ears Look, the job is what you put in the hours etc Uber have quests and bonuses for a certain number of trips over a few days I think the most I made in 5 days was $750 We have two cars so the fuel isn’t too bad I just love the interaction I’ve met so many cool customers, food place workers and other drivers It’s like I was meant to do it lol

If it's a Petbarn delivery I would assume it's a pigs ear

Deliveroo mostly uses foreign students to deliver takeaway on bicycles around inner Melbourne. An emergency services worker told me that they are surprised more of them haven’t been killed.

Isn't that the demographic with most of the delivery services? I am guessing riding skills plus urgency plus location would make quite a few of the deliveries quite perilous.

Make you nostalgic for Centrebet?

At least Pepper is a step up from a booky or a payday lender. Isn't it. Responsible lending rules!

Of course, Dare products are nice.

I wouldn't mind an EV company sponsor. Or Visit Victoria, but public might be too demanding. Gina, interested in middle class welfare? Our captain's name is Steele.

Fair call.

"Uber Eats, DoorDash hit as top Melbourne restaurateur quits all delivery apps
Jessica Yun
By Jessica Yun
November 18, 2022 — 2.26pm

The chief of upscale Melbourne hospitality group Lucas Restaurants has pulled its restaurants off Uber Eats and DoorDash in the wake of Deliveroo’s sudden exit from the Australia market.

As of Friday morning, customers will no longer be able to order items from Baby Pizza or Hawker Hall through any food delivery app, with the hospitality group citing dissatisfaction with the lack of control.

“I was never comfortable with these third-party international conglomerates sitting between us and our guests, and what has happened this week demonstrates that we cannot continue to do business with them,” said Lucas Restaurants founder and chief Chris Lucas.

“At the end of the day we’re about extraordinary experiential dining concepts, not sticking food on the back of a bike.”

Deliveroo announced on Wednesday afternoon that it had ceased all Australian operations and had appointed administrators, with the UK-headquartered company revealing it was losing money keeping the Australian arm running.

Lucas Restaurants marketing manager Celia McCarthy said Deliveroo’s sudden exit made the group realise it had very little control over the customer’s experience. “It’s just not how we want to operate,” she said.

“[We’re doing] a bit of old-fashioned takeaway. Come and pick it up from us if you’d like it.”

The group’s other venues Chin Chin and Kong were pulled off delivery apps late last year after business picked up again amid the post-lockdown recovery.

In late 2017 and 2018, Lucas Restaurants’ Baby and Kong were part of Deliveroo’s “Editions” super kitchen in Melbourne’s Windsor, where restaurants operate out of shared kitchen spaces that are delivery-only, but this ended in 2018."

How come clubs don't do due diligence before taking money from a shyster ?

How many defenders will The Saints pick in the 2024 draft ?
