Re: The Review .
I conducted my own review based on our performances in the final 11 games.
We should have beaten Brisbane at Marvel, Essendon at Marvel, Fremantle at Marvel, West Coast at Optus and Hawthorn at Marvel to finish 7th or 8th.
We did beat West Coast and Hawrhorn, with a bonus win over Carlton when we kicked straight and they didn't, so we finished 10th, which is 2 wins below par and a coach killer!

Re: The Review .
‘Hey… Ross Lyon still free?’
‘Yeah’
‘Do you reckon he’s better than Ratts?’
‘Has to be. Beats him in every measure’
‘Should we get him?’
‘Well we’ve just extended Ratts… but think of the hype’
‘They have said we’ve been boring’
‘But how do we move Ratts on without looking like idiots?’
Said in unison: ‘Football Department Review!’
‘Yeah’

People are gullable morons especially footy fans
When we say review they think an actual review
A bit like a government review or royal commission
Thankfully footy fans have the attention span of a gold fish

He was the head of the search for MH370, also his skills were called upon by the UN for the current conference on climate change.
He's also working on getting an F1 seat for Ricciardo for next year.

Re: The Review .
So no one gives a f*** even though Basset said he would release the review .....seems a bit problematic ..he made a bold statement to the Afl world that he would ..and he hasn't. What gives. Is he lying .?

Re: The Review .
Why?
Think we know the major changes that have cone from it
Do I need to see the blood red glossy cover??? Nup
Move on
Too late now
We owe media nothing
Results on field and it’s “review schmoo”
No one will care
Oh…and I think there is a fine line to protect Ratten here cause it might not be complementary…
“Yeah….nah””

Re: The Review .
I think if the review does get released the media will have a field day, they just love to tip the contents of their bowels onto the Saints any chance they get.
Contrary to what he said in one of his media conferences i hope Fred holds off from releasing it.

How many defenders will The Saints pick in the 2024 draft ?

So now we're damned if we do and damned if we don't.
As ex-president Peter Summers said:
“If we are going to be a contender, we may as well plan to win the bloody thing.”
St Kilda - At least we have a Crest!

Re: The Review .
I see no point in releasing it, certainly not a detailed report.
Irrespective of its contents it will only inflame the rage of those who already have a grudge against the club ( I mean supporters) whether we release it or not.. It will also give the media yet another opportunity to gleefully stick the boots in.
And what about Brett Ratten? Clearly the outcome of the review centred around his performance. Has he not been humiliated enough without it all being exposed to the media and the public?
It's time to move on. In fact, we already have

Re: The Review .
Maybe clearing the wording with Ratts lawyer and presenting findings in such a way that comments cant be individually attributed is proving difficult.

Re: The Review .
My recollection is that he did not say when exactly he would release the review. Mid night on December 24 might be a good time.

Re: The Review .
On a serious note… why would you release it
Hello opposition… here’s everything wrong with us.
Note paragraph B, whilst the attack is very strong with Kikg providing a strong marking focal point, systematically it’s poor once/if the ball hits the ground meaning that defences with medium sized running players are likely to exploit the lack of pressure with ease as the list is vulnerable ++ in this regard
I mean what could be the harm in releasing a form of information like that in different contexts

Re: The Review .
Damian Parrot will of course say, in his gravity-laden voice, steeped in responsibility, "I would have thought the members deserved to see the results of the review", to which his co-podcaster will reply, "most definitely Damian".
I suspect the AFL got to see the review in bullet-points, so I expect Brad Scott knows more about St Kilda than any of us do.

Why release it
Why announce you are having one
Why have one at all
Surely the observant understands when a talking head announces there will be a review it is merely to take the oxygen out of public backlash, PR damage control 101
Imagine if people started telling the truth.

Re: The Review .
You think opposition teams didn't already know what was wrong with the club and about the underutilisation of talent?
It just took time for the pennies to drop for El Presidente.
Old news now but of interest to hard core aficionados, don't you think? Just has to be sanitised.

Re: The Review .
You seem lost, let me see if I can sooth the voices in your head, Bassett also said we would be in premiership contention in 2022. When he's not managing his business interests he's just like me and you, a part time observer and opinion creator.
The findings of the review were released at the press conferences held to announce the BR sacking and RL appointment.
