‘Homecoming’ ‘fairytale’
Wow.
How well have we done to turn the media 180 degrees from calling us a ‘rabble’, ‘run so badly’, ‘terrible’ to now writing about the feel-good story of Lyon, Hayes and Harvey back together again.
Would the media have turned if we had appointed Yze with let’s say Don Pyke as his right-hand man. I strongly doubt it. We would still be referred to as a basket-case.
Of course whether what we have done will work out better than a different scenario is yet to be seen and we may never know unless we win the flag. But definitely a very astute strategy to retain/regain supporter backing and turn the media.
Hopefully the good feeling will last over the summer and translate into winning games come next season. We all love a good fairytale.

Yep. a Fairytale finish with a GF win and a Premiership would suit me just fine!

Yeah well I have been a skeptic too but willing to go for the ride, surely Ross Lyon will be hungry for a Premiership too, lets hope he gets one before he loses interest again.

The problem for me is you don't win a flag because you've changed off field.
The Saints history is riddled with off field changes, let's see how Ross goes before we go over the top.

How many defenders will The Saints pick in the 2024 draft ?

Priority pick in the 2001 super draft?

I think you might have come up with a theme for the Pride game.
Can we work in a glass boot try on symbolising a Cinderella story and the Welcome back Kotter theme song.
Not a dry eye in the place.

Blight simply didn’t want the job & was offered a truckload of $ and had his ego stroked…Ross wants to do it, big difference!

I don't think Ross plays golf with his assistant coaches to dissect 100 point drubbings, either.Saintmike65 wrote: ↑Mon 31 Oct 2022 9:51am

That's exactly how you win a flag!! If you don't get your off-field sorted, your on-field has minimal chance of achieving anything. Successful teams more often than not, are the result of well-run clubs - across the entire operation, from the top down.......

I'm tipping the better changes will be on field personnel.
