Good to see. Hopefully he blossoms next year under Ross.
In Springfield, they're eating the dogs. The people that came in, they're eating the cats. They’re eating – they are eating the pets of the people that live there.

I thought he did well in his season with the Saints. What's the knock on him.kosifantutti wrote: ↑Tue 18 Oct 2022 11:40am Lienert delisted according to Riley Beveridge.

Re: Bytel signs 1 year extension
Really happy that Jack has resigned albeit for 1 year
Injury plagued to date
If he has a good run at it (injury wise) he has a lot to offer in my view. However possibly fallen in ranking behind Marcus W
Form with Sandy towards the end of the year was very solid as the ball winning in inside mid. Showed some maturity
Been in the system now for 4 years & at 22 he must perform next year.
Hopefully a future stalwart of the midfield once Lenny gets in his ear

Re: Bytel signs 1 year extension
Needs to get his fitness up to the right level. Injuries haven't helped him so far. Very much suited to clearance work, but needs to develop his game on the outside, too. I'm sure Lenny Hayes will get him focussing on developing a more well rounded game.
Would have vomited up my breakfast, lunch, and dinner had he gone to Essendon. Thankfully, they went for Setterfield, instead.

Re: Bytel signs 1 year extension
I wouldn't be celebrating too much if I were Jack. "Contract extension" is St Kilda code for "contract extinguished", as we have seen over the past week".

Re: Bytel signs 1 year extension
Yeah I dont think the last coach rated him.
WIll be interesting to see what Ross gets out of him. I still reckon he can play.

Glad that he's going to be around next year but unless Ross has seriously changed his ways I'm not sure Bytel will get much of a chance.

Lienert played like a small though, and did not really use his height.

Re: Bytel signs 1 year extension
A tad surprised given zero games.
Lenny? Ross the Boss? Well he will have no excuse for lack of conditioning now that he knows nice and early. (Not implying that he eats donuts like me)
Hope Lienert gets re-rookied or whatever the term is.

He did ok in the air and when a player was on a lead he could use his reach to try and spoil, saintsRrising wrote: ↑Wed 19 Oct 2022 8:53amLienert played like a small though, and did not really use his height.
but 1 on 1 he was hopeless against a Key position Forward. Worse than Darragh Joyce
He may still get a rookie spot as I think he is very skilled by foot.
His strengths are as support for HBF role and he can also play wing if we have injuries

Re: Bytel signs 1 year extension
Last year I correctly tipped that Jack Hayes would be picked for round one. This year I am tipping that another Jack, Jack Bytel will be similarly rewarded.

Re: Bytel signs 1 year extension
Who makes way for him, though? With Windhager and Owens showing plenty last year, he's got some competition.
Would be a huge bonus if he realises the potential he had before his back injury. Was touted as a top ten pick before that injury.
Between Bytel, Windhager, and Owens we have three very tough young midfielders. Would be awesome if all three developed into A Graders
