Assistant Coaches
So, obviously we are getting a new head coach and there is a lot of posts on that .
My question is where does that leave our assistant currently in place.
Lenny is coming back to be midfield, Enright the defense and I think Roughead is taking forwards.
New coaches traditionally bring in their own, so this will be another interesting twist going forward.

Re: Assistant Coaches
They stated at the press conference that the search for a forwards coach would not begin until the senior coach is finalised.
As far as the structure goes, I am not sure where Roughead fits in, but I doubt he will be forwards coach.
I have no idea who they will bring in.

The only vacancy is the forwards coach, which the new coach will have input on who gets that position.

Doesn’t look like Roughy has progressed passed water boy and injuring players unnecessarily.

Re: Assistant Coaches
I don’t think Roughy wants an assistant coaching role as he is more interested in list management

When he's spoken to media, when referring to our team, he says 'they' rather than 'us' or 'we'.
Get back to Babypoo, Roughead

Nah mate. Love RTB. Difficult decision but correct decision. Nice clubs don’t win premierships.

You can't be seriarse
In Springfield, they're eating the dogs. The people that came in, they're eating the cats. They’re eating – they are eating the pets of the people that live there.

Re: Assistant Coaches
It was clearly the clubs fault Ross walked!
Ultimately he wanted to go, he fkn hated Pelchen and what he was doing
But the reality is, stk had a whole season to extend his contract if they wanted to lock him away… they didn’t and Freo swooped.
Well done them, pathetic by us

Press Conferences
The least important job of a senior coach over the course of the week.
Picking up cones would more important
Coaches just say what needs to be said, and what they want the media to hear. Vanilla Press Conferences equal no headlines.

Re: Assistant Coaches
Unless you are a Craig McCrea and own the pressers, use them to inspire fans and players win or lose; or a Hardwick who presents a tough honest image of his club and to give umpires and other coaches effective messages; or a Chris Scott that uses them well to push his and Geelong's agenda.
Plenty, like Ratts, do them poorly to their detriment however they are a good opportunity for the talented communicators.

When Ross sits in front of the sponsors' board (after any game, win/lose/draw) and starts talking, I dare Caro or Barrett or Robbo to claim we're still irrelevant.
We don't want vanilla Cuddles.
We want a Trump or a Putin to command attention
