Re: YOUR CHOICE FOR NEXT COACH
I think Lenny has got the job, seems strange to sack a coach and not have someone in mind to replace him with. But then again we do seem to do some strange things

Re: YOUR CHOICE FOR NEXT COACH
Hi guys
Been a while since I've posted (but enjoy reading the banter most of the time)
I think they need to target Lyon - best available out there for mine. Some may wonder if he would adopt his old playing style. I'd like to think him being in the media and watching as much football as he does now would give him new game plans to tweak with what is successful now.
At the same time, the Club is going to have to work hard on memberships
Imagine if they went the untried coach at senior level e.g. Yze
"We would like to announce Adem Yze as our new coach. Sure we showed some balls by cutting a bloke we gave a 2 year contract extension to, but we won't be ballsy by going the other direction."
Can't see many Saints people not renewing their memberships if they show some balls and appoint Lyon.

Dream team of Laidley and Hird.

You then may very well end up contributing those cents to a swear jar rather than StK FC. I bet someone has already said yes to the job and Rossy would be on a very short list of possibilities.saintbob wrote: ↑Fri 14 Oct 2022 1:07pmf*** OFF, if they give it to Lyon after the way he f***ed the club over then they can go and get f***ed they’ll never get another cent out of me!Waltzing St Kilda wrote: ↑Fri 14 Oct 2022 8:01amI agrree. He followed the mighty dollar as he was having some financial issues outside of footy, and Freo waved the big money. Shot through like greased lightning. I don't want him to come back.The_Dud wrote: ↑Fri 14 Oct 2022 2:57pmDid Lyon f*ck over the club, or did the club f*ck up not re-signing Lyon? The G Train Legacy wrote: ↑Fri 14 Oct 2022 2:54pmYou then may very well end up contributing those cents to a swear jar rather than StK FC. Re: YOUR CHOICE FOR NEXT COACH
What was the thinking in not extending his contract (like we seem so keen to do with coaches now!) well before it ran out, especially coming off 2 GF years? Sorry I can't quite remember how everything went down exactly.spert wrote: ↑Fri 14 Oct 2022 3:02pmHe followed the mighty dollar as he was having some financial issues outside of footy, and Freo waved the big money. I went through this in detail over the journey… he slowed the process of extending his contract down… then stopped it when he smelled a better off and then used the Saints to up Freo’s offer.
Then he signed with them without giving us the opportunity to match as he wanted to move on as he knew Freo was the better prospect
Glorious work it was

Re: YOUR CHOICE FOR NEXT COACH
I think Firey should do a poll
Everyone knows it's not the board at St Kilda who makes the decisions..... It's the saintsational board
CURLY and Teflon will pass on the results to Lethlean and Bassat so that they can fulfil their promise to quickly appoint a new coach

That's your view anyway, I don't think the club were very efficient in re-signing him at the time.skeptic wrote: ↑Fri 14 Oct 2022 3:42pmLyon f*cd over the club.The_Dud wrote: ↑Fri 14 Oct 2022 2:57pmDid Lyon f*ck over the club, or did the club f*ck up not re-signing Lyon? The G Train Legacy wrote: ↑Fri 14 Oct 2022 2:54pmYou then may very well end up contributing those cents to a swear jar rather than StK FC. Forget about Lenny becoming senior coach…not happening.

Re: YOUR CHOICE FOR NEXT COACH
Lenny was my favorite player and was stoked to hear him coming back as an assistant.
I don’t think he has enough exposure to coaching to be a head coach at this stage, I think it would be like Voss and then Leppitch at Lions with ordinary list to work with.
