Hunter Clark
Insider trading on afl.com.au is saying that Hunter Clark may be a trade option.
I personally don’t want him gone. He needs a consistent run of games and will be brilliant.
Thoughts?

Re: Hunter Clark
Yeah saw that this morning, hopefully just rumour of clubs being interested in him. Of course they do. Would be just very STK to see him do a preseason at another club and come out looking buffed up like Jaeger O'Meara.

He is contracted so the club has the upper hand.

Would be a terrible loss
One of the few we have that looks like they could be proper elite if he could get his body right

Let's swap him for Kyle Hartigan.

Re: Hunter Clark
Huge year for Hunter coming up.
Would not be surprised if he is testing waters to get a new start somewhere.
It would be a shame to see him go, but if we were offered GC first pick (like they did for Weller) , I'd take it and draft a pure mid.
Short of that, I'd prefer him to do a big preseason and come out firing.

Re: Hunter Clark
IF... Hunter wants out the question is why. With Hill and Long does it represent a worrying trend of player dissatisfaction?

Re: Hunter Clark
He’s 23 FFS and has had a wretched run with injury. I want him to stick around and become a great player for St Kilda, not someone else. Plus he’s contracted.

The players should be dissatisfied, they are stinking it up. Time for the entitled to take accountability or move on.

Re: Hunter Clark
Clark looks out of place at St Kilda being dual sided and a smart footballer, could that be the reason?
Horrible move if Club generated.
I remember last season they were saying Coffield wanted out. This season they seem to have cast a wider net.

Re: Hunter Clark
Clark's not free to leave, nor would the club in any shape or form be looking to trade him away, reports in media are totally unsubstantiated.Ghost Like wrote: ↑Thu 08 Sep 2022 12:44pm Clark looks out of place at St Kilda being dual sided and a smart footballer, could that be the reason?

So much scuttlebutt around this time of the year, all these journos are just throwing stuff out there "look at me, look at me".....

Re: Hunter Clark
Clark plus something for Ben King
Is it our first round pick, another player, swap of picks?
Suddenly Gold Coast may have too many tall forwards and Ben is coming off a knee

They would probably ask for a 1st round pick.

Re: Hunter Clark
Absolutely this
This club trades Clarke and we’re seriously should fold
**** me he’s one of only 2-3 decent bsll users we have
Has time and space - is creative in making the play …if you trade that out ….just give it away ffs
Meanwhile butcher Jones runs round like a headless chook
Ross keeps kicking his haymakers
Billing’s too scared to actually take a 45 degree kick
So we trade out Clark ????
If the clubs shopping him they need their head read
Long too - the ONLY hard nut physical beast in the Stevie baker mould so no wonder clubs want him
They can see St Kilda have hit half developed talent that just need a professional environment…
This review better deliver and ffs Lade MUST go

He has all those qualities you listed, but you don't see them after half time currently

Re: Hunter Clark
He is a good player, but is he going to go to the next level? My answer would be No, as he is 24yo now and still has the body of an 18yo with below average aerobic capacities. He is not going to become the midfielder we all hoped and we have plenty who can play the HBF role, so if we can get a good deal for him I would trade him without question.

You’re not necessarily wrong but I think this post misses the bigger point here.Impatient Sainter wrote: ↑Thu 08 Sep 2022 3:47pm He is a good player, but is he going to go to the next level? If we can’t turn players like Clark into stars, then as Teflon said, we may as well give it away.
The only way Clark should go is unless it’s for way overs or say part of the deal in to get Bing across. It should be one whopper of an offer

Re: Hunter Clark
When you sit at 8-3 half way through the season and come home 3-8 then it’s no wonder players have had enough and want out.
Will be years before we go 8-3 again to start a season.
He was a top 10 pick
I will fair dinkum spew if all we get in return is a 2nd round pick after 5 or 6 years of investment.
If the club thinks they can rebuild through the draft they are kidding themselves . We got lucky last year but thinking we can do that again 2 years in a row is delusional

Re: Hunter Clark
Clark is not a good ball user, he should be and can be, but he is not.
He turns the ball over too much, both by possession and getting caught in possession.
Yes he has had injuries but he should have improved more by now.
Is that st kildas development capabilities or is it him?
I wonder
