It will be interesting. No doubt Sinclair and Wilkie are 1 & 2 but I'll be interested to see just how much the Award rewards number of games played as opposed to the quality of those games - probably more to do with the bottom 5 of the Top 10.

Apologies if I've not made sense.

For example, players who have missed games are at a disadvantage because everyone who plays a match gets a vote - is that correct?

B&F definitely rewards players who played a full season and were consistent in those games over players who played at a higher level but in less games.

That feels about right. Interesting King is not top 10 which is probably right considering he's still got some issues with attitude and mental fragility.

King, Coffers and Clark need to break into that list if we want to play finals next year.

I'm tipping it'll be:

Sinclair
Wilkie
Crouch
Streele
Marshall
Ross
Windhager
King
Membrey
Battle

If they don’t have King in the top 10, won’t that be bad for him externally and internally.

External - Press mentions he didn’t get a top 10 possie - > more noise> more pressure for ‘23

Internal - WTF? Tried my guts out, mutha Fs don’t even rate me > Ben, how are ya? Wanna have a beer? At Southport Pub?

You're quite brilliant Shane, yeah..terrific!

This is my issue - we reward mediocrity - ie a player that plays 22 average games get more votes than 2 players who alternatively play blinders. I would rather 2 match winners alternating having great games than 1 mediocre player.

What I am trying to illustrate is perhaps best with Geelong and the Coleman race.

Curnow kicks 64 - nice return and would have polled in our scheme very well

Hawkins and Cameron kick 59 each - and under our votes may very well have only scored mid range for each or if the distribution was such that if Hawkins was scoring Cameron was not so may have scored well when it was their day but not when it wasn't.

Under the 3-2-1 system - Curnow may get 22 1s but Hawkins and Cameron may have shared 16 3s (8 each) and therefore been better 'valued'.

I know I would rather a forward line of Cameron / Hawkins with 118 than Curnow with 64

Your talking garbage. Maxs attitude is no different to what Roos was. He wants the ball he wants to do everything perfect. He demands high standards from himself.
Nothing wrong with that.

Roo was a Peacock- a leader and a champion at 22yo (he was AFLMVP - and broke the record for marks in a season!)

Max - his body language is timid.

He needs to build a body, and develop an Alpha male attitude, where he expects to dominate every opposition.

Max Would clearly be in the top 10 at half way

But a very average run of about 8 games will see him just slip out of the top 10 imo

Higgins the same

Webster won't get a vote.
I agree with Sinclair, Wilkie, Crouch, Ross will be there somewhere, Battle too.

King might sneak into top 10, you never know

King should finish top 10 due to playing every game and kicking 52 goals, finishing 6th in the Coleman at 21/22.

Secret_Troll will keep trolling tho, desperately still trying to drive his narrative that King can’t play forward, even though his goal tally this year has only been bettered by 2 Saint big men this century.

It’s getting quite embarrassing.

Steele would’ve obviously finished higher if not for injury

There were plenty of players impacted by injury, and missed large chunks of the season. As a result they will finish low in the B&F
Not because of ability but unavailability

Don’t think they give more votes due to age?

Between Rnd 13 and Round 22 King kicked 15 goals 14 behinds in 10 games averaging 10ppg

With No standout games.

He will vote well in R23 though, so could sneak into the top 10
