Eloquent and to the point - I couldn't have said it better. Kudos, Trev.

Re: Forumites IQ test: who will win this week?
Sports bet. Certainties.
I think 3 of the favourites are under the odds. Melbourne look a fair price but Richmond at the Gabba can't be so short?
And I don't reckon the analysts have factored in Beveridge's coaching genius and Dogs experience playing at Optus.
Might go a few bucks Lions all up Dogs.

So what are the odds for Rich Bris?Yorkeys wrote: ↑Mon 29 Aug 2022 11:10pm Sports bet. Certainties.

Well I suspected no one would tip the Pies, given their streaky wins against lowly sides and incredible luck they have ridden - it must be said - very well.
But Geelong our September chumps? No?
Yeah I guess I know better..Geelong are looking strong this year. I will watch at least two of the games if not all of them.
You're quite brilliant Shane, yeah..terrific!

12 of our games were against Top 8 teams .... our other 10 games were against sides out of the 8
Hopefully we get a better fixture draw next year

Re: Forumites IQ test: who will win this week?
Freo's only encounter against the Dogs this season was round 21 at Marvel. Freo won by 17 and led pretty much all night.
Freos' home record this season is also pretty good. Losing only three to us, Collingwood, and Melbourne.
Their record against top 8 teams is 4.5-3.5
I'd prefer them at home to beat the Dogs whose form this season has not been consistent.
The Dogs record against top 8 teams is 2-7.

Yes, bookies agree & logic is impeccable.Life Long Saint wrote: ↑Tue 30 Aug 2022 3:50pmFreo's only encounter against the Dogs this season was round 21 at Marvel. Freo won by 17 and led pretty much all night.

Just that finals are different, doggies have been building, they have a few match winners, finals experience and unfinished business at Optus, plus a mad genius coach. As a mug punter, well Dogs might just do it.
I am not betting much though.

Re: Forumites IQ test: who will win this week?
That’s a pretty good argument. Got me thinking. I wonder (Samurai where r u?) how many of these late home and away fixture results get flipped when it comes to finals? eg.Team A beats Team B in Round 21, then loses against the same team in an early finals fixture?Life Long Saint wrote: ↑Tue 30 Aug 2022 3:50pmFreo's only encounter against the Dogs this season was round 21 at Marvel. Re: Forumites IQ test: who will win this week?
To make the IQ game more fun, I reckon we should have 10 "confidence points" to spend across the four games to show how much confidence we have in each prediction.
Winner (and thusly highest IQ on Saintsational) has the highest total points.
Rule: must spend at least one point on each game.
OK
I'll say...
4 Melbourne (Sydney)
3 Richmond (Brissy)
2 Bullies (Freo)
1 Collingwood (Geelong)

Re: Forumites IQ test: who will win this week?
Nat Fyfe ruled out with a hammie
He played well against St Kilda, but I don’t think they’ll miss him that much
He hasn’t been part of the team the last few weeks.
What his omission does, is that it gives the Bulldogs less headaches and more confidence imo
