Same with Seb tonight. I betcha people will look at the stat sheet at the end of the night and give them votes

They don’t deserve it. They are ineffectual. They need to be replaced ( or at least one of them) if we are going to improve

They run around, they try, they handball in tight to a team mate when they should be running and gunning and getting quick ball movement.

We have some players with no game awareness. The worst is Paton.

Seriously, did you expect anything else tonight?

Rugby League would have to be the stupidest, most moronic and over rated game of all time.

It won’t help. Not sure how many times there were opportunities for a lead into space and our forwards just lead to the hotspot 30 metres out. We are too predictable.

If there is any chance of 2 St Kilda players getting free from their opponents, they’ll spoil each other

In fairness… we’re not exactly flushed with options.

Personally I’d give Crouch points for effort

We have a mid level playing list. The midfield is slow and lacks creativity and our forward line players don't work for one another. We also need another 198cm key position player.

No one is surprised by tonight's result

WOW!!!
Therein lies why we are a rabble. Such a costly, totally illogical and morale sapping decision made by him, ill-afforded by a lowly, debt-ridden club.
Yet this bloke remains unaccountable and is to be our next CEO.
Why???
Lethlean rhymes with Pelchen

They’ll go down in our history as two of the greats of St Kilda

Typical St.Kilda payed way overs for Hill & really hasn't lived up to the expectation, 900K a year & Hanners 4 years 800k played 17 games total & some of those games only played a few quarters . Although Hill has only been ok he is still miles ahead of Hanners in terms of value for money. Bottom line both mega failures & have really restricted our salary cap big time . We could cut both at seasons end & I don't know if we would be any worse off except Hill is still contracted & we would have to pay him out . He has no market value anymore so we just have to keep him for another 2 years regardless for 2 mil out of our cap . Hanners is gone lets hope Hill can at least give us something

I’d give the list manager and recruiters zero for bringing him in.

We had Dunstan who is basically the same type of inside mid. Crouch is more consistent and maybe a slight upgrade, but why??

Why make the change for next to zero difference.

Sorry Scallop but IMO that’s a ridiculous point and comparison
I got nothing against Dunstan but he ain’t no Crouch

IMO Crouch has been very good compared to our other recruits he has been a steal . Tonight he was better than most even though he wasn't great . I think that says something about our current team :(

Not only are we slow, unskilled we have a lot of players that are poor decision makers, Paton is probably the worst offender but Ross, Webster and Jones are not far behind him. The Tigers look certain to finish 8th and deservedly so as we would have been completely uncompetitive

That is a massive load of shite. Crouch is a miles better upgrade on Dunstan. Miles better. Crouch won a B & F in a team that was favourite for and leading in a Grand Final.

Comparatively, that would mean Dunstan is about to win a B & F this year at Melbourne (except he can barely get a game).

Crouch was also a free hit FA who cost zero draft capital.

I’d argue our recruiters have barely bought in any one better from another club than Crouch in recent times.

Really??? It is these two who are at fault for tonight's result and our Club's situation? What a crock! NFI!

Let's fill our backline with unaccountable, defenceless soft possession gatherers we'll be much better.

Leaves us with Clark, Wilkie & Coffield for 2023.

I actually thought that when 3-4 first choice players were missing we might be half competitive. Second half was an embarrassment. They walked in some goals

Let's see what the much lauded Gags and his band of merry men do this off season in regards to improving the playing stocks.

Let's hope we have someone in list management/recruiting that can spot a quality player.
Let's hope we don't opt for anymore Superannuants.
Let's hope someone at Moorabbin can work out what the team's deficiencies are and recruit accordingly. (Even though they say don't recruit for need, recruit best available, how is that working for us)
Let's hope at least some disillusioned members sign up for 2023.

The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?
