Gws exodus
Do we have a look at GWS ? A number of players seemingly up for grabs.. who’s our recruiting / contracts guy that works with Gaggs (ex gws / pies)?? Surely he has some connections with the players?

Interesting from Jon Ralph on Fox Footy:

Surely you take one of those GWS mids if you can. Maybe even Haynes for a couple of years.
Kelly would be ideal but $1.2mil is quite the salary.

Re: Gws exodus
Yes to a mid but no way on Kelly.
I like Haynes but do we need him?

Re: Gws exodus

Re: Gws exodus
issue is what they are willing to give up matches what we have inside mids - Taranto, Hopper. Toranto is a gun but looks like he might take Dusty's spot at Richmond.
Haynes on $800k next year no thanks for a HBF
Kelly untouchable as is Whitfield.
Best option is to try and find the next Steele - younger player stuck behind others although that hasn't happened so much lately as they have been poor.

Re: Gws exodus
My good friends, may I ask we make trade for great Westside Sydney champion Uncle Toby? We can trade 20 thousand tampons with applicato. I think is fair trade. Mighty Saints then is boot in for premiership cup then.

Re: Gws exodus
Pretty sure he wants back to Geelong. Seems like a bit of a dick the way he had the hissy fit when he got drafted to GWS.

Re: Gws exodus
No to Hopper
Similar to what we have
We don’t need a bull, we don’t need an accumulator
We need a power mid who can explode from stoppage and is dangerous forward of centre.
Not a fan of giving up first round draft picks for anyone - compromises future
Thank god Shiel chose Essendon!!!

Re: Gws exodus
Taranto is nowhere near “fringe talent”
He is a mid, who can (and has) gone froward and kicked goals

Re: Gws exodus
agreed. these guys are not fringe. many of them are A grade talents. for whatever reason GWS are a fringe side - but these guys are guns and should def be on the radar.
interesting all the noise re de go go. not sure why as a club we have to reveal our inner sanctum discussions. seems amateurish? Some may argue the whole 'board want more due diligence' done as purely trying to drive down the price / fein the interest but to me it just looks and feels amateur
ideally nobody should have known we had even a remote interest in him other than the core list management guys
