We enjoy losing, because it's easy and we have no drive, no ambition and Ratten is being out coaches again.

Re: Match Thread Saints v Weagles Round 19 2022
Sinclair gets a lot of footy and he wastes 20-25% of his possessions.
Both when he’s kicking out from deep in defence and also when he
bombs it long inside 50. He gets lazy and plays dumb but also it’s symbolic of our team
Hill the same
No connection and no caring

What a graceful, smooth transition inside 50 with slick passes and smart decision making
What a goal by Membrey. We ooze class

Ratten needs to get this team back to basics % - talking to each other, shepherding, giving the first option, playing in front, when in defence being accountable for an opponent.
Actually look to where your kicking and kick to the advantage for your team mates.
Football is not rocket science, we seem to be over playing every possession, nothing is instictive.

Close game, though to be fair the Eagles are a good team…

We've got this. I can see a 10 goal last quarter coming up.

Steele 15 touches in that quarter, doing everything he can to keep us from getting run over.
Take the captaincy off him I reckon

Re: Match Thread Saints v Weagles Round 19 2022
I hate to say it but I think he's looking overrated.
The ability is there, but it is way to inconsistent for a guy in his 3rd season.
Then again, he might tear WC a new one in the last quarter.
We could use it.
Hawthorn will beat us easily next week at this point.
Think of me long enough to make a memory.

No Naughton or Bruce to help him crash packs
Had turned contests into goals for us off the wing
I swear some people don’t watch football…

Re: Match Thread Saints v Weagles Round 19 2022
Gotta say…
I like Byrnes. A good example of why you give players opportunity. Has been decent today and looks likely.
Long, not much ball but does something every time he’s near it
Coops as well IMO really harshly maligned. One of the few in defence that’s actually willing to go up in the air against the big forwards and compete with them. Reckon he’s doing well in a role outside of his weight class.
Windhager… haven’t seen a defensive game from a Saints mid in eons.
