And this game shows you why you don't drop Butler/Higgins when they have a bad game......

And Adelaide kicked 14 . 1 in the second half
St Kilda should never trade with Essendon and Sydney ever again!!!

Let's see if we come out after half time.
Our defence is badly undersized, so midfield and scoreboard pressure is essential

Re: Match Thread Saints v Weagles Round 19 2022
half-time thoughts
*T rade Gresham at end of season, he has perceived value but no practical. sorry mate, I've tried to stay on your bandwagon, but you're not even really trying anymore. Flashes of occasional brilliance just annoy me even more
* Paton - not sure what happened but he's a very different player now than he used to be. Maybe it's a confidence thing?
* We need another specialist ruckman
* Sharman - needs more games, not sure he's adjusted to AFL speed and seems to be surprised when he gets caught
* We really are missing Doogie Howser F.B.
* Sincs is an out-and-out superstar, Windhager looks like he will be.
* Steele is badly out of form, saying that, he's still our best mid which is pretty damning.
* I really like Long as a pressure forward, but but then you get Butler having a game like he is today and you know why he gets picked as a sub instead. I'd say drop Higgins for him, but if higgo can get back to his early season form then it's not an option. I just don't know where Longy fits in this team other than the sub or replacing Jones as an inside mid?
* WCE are pretty rubbish and making us look a lot better than we have the last few weeks

He is the most over rated player on pur list. He would have to be caught holding the ball more than any other player in the comp. When he does kick it its a scrub kick the rately hits a target.
Worth repeating!

Re: Match Thread Saints v Weagles Round 19 2022
I agree there is coaching/player development issues at the club but the arrogant moron who threw the cheque book at Hill and Hannebery has a lot to answer for.
Hill was not the type of player we needed at that point of time in our rebuild and even now. He's a cream on top player not a grunt, matchwinner. That's what we needed Lethlean and not one who was already cooked from his days at Sydney. Both we paid way over for, stupidly so!
I would take Acres back for a straight swap with Hill in a heartbeat.
The fact that these two have sucked up so much of our salary cap with no or limited on-field contribution, is a disaster in itself.

Collingwood play Melbourne, Sydney and Carlton for the last 3 rounds.
We'll see how good they are then.

Yep, we’ll lose this one, too. I blame the club for getting us excited with a flying start to the season. We’re just not that good
