They shoulda put Butler on the extended bench and dropped him, and promoted Long.
Long was only on last wk for last qtr, but made his presence felt.
Every touch was skilful and he was super hungry.
And this is how Cuddles rewards him?

100% agree. I thought he was the spark in the last quarter! Hard at it, created opportunities and really caused mayhem when he was near the ball. Butler has been so quiet and his perceived pressure is not near the level he once was. Higgins looks so unfit and can’t chase his defender for more than 5 meters. Crazy selections!

Long will always be a fringe first team player at any club that employs him. Ill disciplined and doesn’t contribute enough. IMO at any rate.

His best position is half back, and there are others who do that better. He lacks forward craft. He's a bit reckless and fumbles a lot. He has energy and aggression but has always lacked the class to be an ongoing option up forward. A man without a position. He's one of those 'almost' players.

I wish some others had his grunt, though. That's one thing we can always count on with Long
