Where was GT's big gob when Richo and Elshaug were running the show?

That era was worthy of far more criticism

Expectations were lower

We had a far worse team at that time after attempting a rebuild during compromised drafts and then bungling a number 1 pick.

At no stage did AR have a finals capable list.

Having said that

GT was still vocal about StK in that time

So this list is finals capable so the coach has underachieved then?

Rubbish. No finals capable list?
Billings, Dempster, Ray, Webster, Dunstan, Fischer, Gilbert, Gwilt, Montagna, Roberton, Schneider, Ross, Riewoldt, Bruce, Armitage, Hayes, Steven and more....finals were there to be had but Richo was sh1t.

Totally agree we had a finals capable list.
In 2016, we went 12-10 and missed on percentage (10%). In that season, we lost round 1 to Port by 33 after challenging them all day and leading for most of it.
We had a 10 goal loss to the Dogs in Rd 2, an 8 goal to GWS at home in round 5, a 100 point loss to West Coast in round 8, a 13 goal loss to Adelaide in round 11, a 7 goal loss to the Suns, and a 70 point loss to Sydney at home.
7 of our 10 losses were by margins over five goals.

The next season, we went 11-11. Again suffering some large losses. 8/11 over five goals.

Not the list, I'm afraid. That was all coach and game plan there.

The 2016 loss to Shitney, was that the one where Robbo kicked out twice after a point but they were Dougal-esque and the ball came back with interest (a goal each time)

The 2016 finals capable - almost they went 12/10

Most stars over the hill

Riewoldt 34
Montagna 33
Dempster 32
Gilbert 30

We were NOT predicted to make finals in any year from 2013 - 2019

13-16 stars past it
17-19 No genuine stars (Jack Steven easily best player and was never an AA)

At least the GT era wasn't the farce the current era is, the club is now a cuddled up joke.

The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

You left out Chips who retired at the end of '16. He was also 34

Roo was desperate to try and play finals again and we hung on to too many of the older players during that era

Richo also agreed to recruit recycled players from other clubs including Nathan Brown ( I was against getting him. Nothing against the person, but he didn't really help propel our team. In 2016 he was struggling to retain his spot in the Collingwood team)

As soon as the oldies retired and the B-C graders were found out we slumped

McCartin wasn't fit. Richo was playing Membrey in the reserves and trying to give opportunities to Paddy

Once Paddy got his concussions, that's when Skunk was able to cement his place in the team

In my opinion, Skunk should have been first preference all along....because Paddy wasn't fit enough to play out a whole game

Not sure Membrey played too many games in the VFL?

Where was the challenge to the board after the Fremantle capitulation or after the embarrassing displays against the Swans or the Bulldogs?

Has GT been on holidays the last month and a half?

...edit ..I know the answer to the above so don't bother replying. You are making up stuff as usual
