So who should they play ahead of them?

Bontempelli is a timely reminder tonight of our list failure in the last 10 years. Steele aside and Sinclair's development, we have no stars, unlike the better teams.

I can’t wait until we make the 2-14 Eagles look like world-beaters next week

Fair call but does anyone seriously believe these two players are the sole reason for our loss tonight and our effort over the past month?

f*** Byrnes is useless

The whole midfield could be dropped tonight- one of the most pathetic efforts I have seen for a long while

No, but they’re an easily solved part of the problem.Ghost Like wrote: ↑Fri 15 Jul 2022 11:20pmFair call but does anyone seriously believe these two players are the sole reason for our loss tonight and our effort over the past month?

Can't agree with Steele. He played his guts out but what hope with a one man midfield?

Steele looked like an old country footballer in the first half when the damage was done.saintkid wrote: ↑Fri 15 Jul 2022 11:23pmCan't agree with Steele. He played his guts out but what hope with a one man midfield?Code: Select all

Re: Match Thread Saints v Bulldogs Round 18 2022
Byrnes has hopefully played his last game for the club
Marshall just coasting
Ryder close to the end - love him but father time catching up I think
Jones and Gresham disappointing
Paton nowhere near as good as before he did that injury
Few positives for me:-
- the form of Sharman in the back half was encouraging
- Ben Long making a statement - should always be in the best 22 - need someone with a bit of mongel especially with DMac out - not much passion displayed out there apart from the last quarter
- Jack Sinclair continuing his stellar run - has to be AA and a certainty for B&F
- Wilkie great down back once again
I'm even angrier seeing how they played in the last - Aaaaargh

Re: Match Thread Saints v Bulldogs Round 18 2022
Guys quite clearly we are tanking. If anyone else can give a better explanation for the last two months I’d like to hear it. Let’s play an up and coming forward in defence, let’s have no structure to move the ball forward, let’s chip the ball ten times to move forward 30 metres, let’s handball ten times and not go anywhere, let’s miss ability sitters continuously. I was here live and it stunk, it stunk bad.
And thanks to our board re-signing ratten early we have two more years of this to look forward to

I still think he did ok and won't single out our best listed player after significant shoulder surgery. The remaining midfield who did not suffer a major injury this season were putrid and they have been for several weeks now.spert wrote: ↑Fri 15 Jul 2022 11:24pmSteele looked like an old country footballer in the first half when the damage was done.saintkid wrote: ↑Fri 15 Jul 2022 11:23pmCan't agree with Steele. I agree with all silverhalo but must ask, how many more times must Long be dropped before he makes that quarter the norm rather than an exception.silverhalo wrote: ↑Fri 15 Jul 2022 11:26pmByrnes has hopefully played his last game for the club

Re: Match Thread Saints v Bulldogs Round 18 2022
Smashed at clearance. Could have been an ambush. If only Ratts knew the way Libba, Smith, Bont, et al structured and cleared the footy. Oh ..... Hang on. They do it every week.
What does Ratts do during the week?
That's right instructs a slow game plan that enables opposition to sit 17 behind the footy. Great. Well done Ratts.
Also, why is it that nearly every Doggie kick out after a point was structured and planned and resulted in a wing possession. Must have been another surprise. Oh...... Hang on. They do it every week.
So disappointing. Sydney shut down their run last week. Can't Ratts spend 2 hours watching a goddamm replay?

Jones is terrible. Billings is average. It’s no coincidence.
