King - does he really want to be at SK
I noticed that King appeared disinterested in the celebrations last Friday and not singing the song. I’m rapidly concluding he doesn’t want to be with us. Tonight he was as useful as t…s on a bull. Maybe the twins are going to reunite at the Suns???

Re: King - does he really want to be at SK
I am sure that he does - did he not recently renew his contract?
Maybe he was buggered on Friday
Maybe he is unsure of what he is to do at FF
Maybe he needs some mentoring
Maybe he had 'personal' issues
He needs to do something though - the hopes of ALL St Kilda fans rest squarely on the shoulders of this just turned 23 year old!!!!
But I do think he needs a mentor who can not only give him support - but tell him to HTFU

Long time reader...first time poster. What a ridiculous comment to make. So many on this forum turn on players so quickly. For mine, you have to look at the gameplay. Others say we don't have the players. I say that is crap. Our best is bloody brilliant. It's on the coaches to motivate and get these players up and put in a game plan that suits. Let's stop bagging a 22 year old who has shown he is a stkilda man and blame those who really are at fault ..... the umpires (tongue in cheek but boy they don't make it easy not to bag them).

I beginning to believe by this time next year he'll be in Ben's shadow.
Think of me long enough to make a memory.

I’d be depressed if I had to play in our forward line too…

Might be time to do what Carlton tried with Fevola and play him in the backline against good opposition forwards who could teach him about finding space. Ben was touted as a CHB maybe they got the twins mixed up as he seems to be a more attacking forward than Max

King user properly is least of our issues
Get a game plan that demands he leads he’ll be fine
And get his brother

At 22 most superstars were already stars!
He’s been really disappointing in the last 6 weeks
I’m talking about his attitude
His body language is meek and disinterested- he needs to man up!

Re: King - does he really want to be at SK
The burning question with King is why is he so stagnant.
He’s a brilliant talent, quick and agile with incredible agility for his size.
If he played percentage football and got kicks on the lead he’d be unstoppable.
All the commentators who were great key forwards like Roo, Brown, Brereton, Carey, BM etc say this constantly.
It’s obvious to all and sundry.
Why doesn’t it happen?
Surely it’s not the game plan to boot it on his head while he camps at the top of the square.
The guy got high 90’s in his VCE so he’s no fool, surely the coaches are working on this so why hasn’t it changed?
It really defies logic.

King obviously wants to be at St Kilda, has much natural skills, but it looks to me like he is just not up to it when the pressure is on right now. Needs a spell at Sandy to work on his deficiencies.

Re: King - does he really want to be at SK
He'll be fine.....as soon as well actually decide to have a real game plan which includes forward entries and transitions.
As soon as King ripped apart a few teams in a quarter opposition coaches and backlines are always focused on him with an outnumber.
Weirdly against the Blues we seemed to have system for the game......but then against Freo we reverted back to no real game plan.
The worry is can Rats changed his spots? Game plan wise he refers to David Rath, and what he has put in place is putrid.

Re: King - does he really want to be at SK
King needs support
Periodically he has had that support by Ryder and Marshall being forward - but only periodically
As with our backline we are one very capable tall short - hence the opposition can double team King including by blocking
There is Membrey but he is only midfielder size hence a bonus, more dangerous when 3rd banana
Riewoldt had Gehrig and Kossi
Therein lies the difference

And just to further make the point Brown had Lynch, Brereton had Dunstall, Carey had Longmire, Lockett had Lowe, Franklin had Roughead and so it goes on
King has who?
Therein lies the problem

We had Bruce but we let him go.
I was always uneasy about this.
King, Bruce, Membrey.

Yes, is true. He play very well when he first look like Borat but now he need to trim moustache and make look beautiful like a Borat moustache. Then he make kicking your goal to glorious benefit for premiership Saints footy ball. And then we make winning team and HIGH FIVE !!

Why did we let Bruce go?
Effectively we got Zac Jones for him
A key forward for a small mid - strange decision imo

Re: King - does he really want to be at SK
Maybe just ruck Marshall and plonk Paddy deep for the whole match. The other way around would be better, but it would be asking a lot of a 34-year-old.
Can’t see too many other options. Sharman not ready. Hayes out for season. Membrey, a good third banana but not a true key forward. Too short in defence already to move someone forward.

Some of the staff at St Kilda and some of the players didn’t like his clothes or his hair or his bad jokes or something…
We want everyone to feel comfortable and safe and not be confused if they don’t understand people’s jokes

Re: King - does he really want to be at SK
I heard that Bruce was not well liked at StK and most were glad to see the back of him!
Still
He and King would’ve been a good pairing imo
