Butlers run down of the Freo player umpire right there no free.
No we didn’t lose because of umpires

playing in the spirit of whispers in the sky. there's an ugly festering emotional tumor residing deep in the recesses of the umpire fraternities collective brain.

Re: The non holding the ball free
Yes, that was a blatant miss. How could he miss that ? That is a good question. He couldn't have, just chose not to pay it.
Just as bad was the free against Wilkie on Lobb for an arm chop and resulting goal.
Clearly no arm chop, not even close. So does the most experienced umpire in the league just imagine or predict a free ?
It's hard not to believe bias.

Re: The non holding the ball free
I was at the ground and I think the freo guy managed to drop the ball onto his boot for a little 1 metre kick. Hill then runs about 5-7 metres and tries to fend off. I didn't like the umpiring and can't believe the Lobb one but that's the way I saw those plays just before 3/4 time. I might be wrong though.

This is how you address the question Curly - this opens discussion without it being an 'Umpires cost us the game - we are perfect' type thread - Kudos

Re: The non holding the ball free
With all due respect - the little dinky kick missed his foot and the umpire would have clearly seen that - and if not - the tackle on Hill could just as easily fallen into the category of a stoppageJacks Back wrote: ↑Sun 10 Jul 2022 10:38am I was at the ground and I think the freo guy managed to drop the ball onto his boot for a little 1 metre kick. Stevic then twisted the knife. Is it really 50m from the centre of the ground to 20m out?

Re: The non holding the ball free
As bad a decision as I have seen.
The paying of the free against Hill magnified the earlier, more blatant obvious incorrect call against Butler.
I can understand Butler losing the plot on that one.

Re: The non holding the ball free
Was a bad decision, but was quickly followed by an even worse one by Butler.
If Butler doesn’t act like a flog then the bad decision is irrelevant.
I would have parked him on the bench for the last quarter, inexcusable.

Yep. Look I know we were s*** after half time, but one maggot in particular was just pathetic. Umpire Stevic is either biased or just plain stupid.howlinwolf wrote: ↑Sun 10 Jul 2022 10:23am Yes, that was a blatant miss. How could he miss that ? That is a good question. Not only the two incidents mentioned above but what about the arm chopping holding and pushes in the back that King repeatedly gets. One one occasion he clearly marks the ball despite getting his arms held only to cop a front on tackle. Result, play on. f*** me.

Re: The non holding the ball free
There were another 5 or 6 missed, but as soon as we got tackled it was holding the ball.
And don’t even get me started about Fyfe’s high don’t argue on Gresham 30 out from our goal in the last and the ump
was less than 5m away

That footage is damning to anyone who doesn’t believe there is biased against StKilda. All are just blatantly wrong.

Stevic deserves a kicking for this. To double down on his obvious error was the act of a complete d.ckhead. It came at a critical juncture, too.

Re: The non holding the ball free
How about Paddy's kick after contesting a ruck duel going out of bounds (eventually) and being deemed deliberate? If that was deliberate then so is every single time as ruckman punches the ball and it goes out of bounds.
I believe that the umpiring surely had an impact on the game last night. No doubt about that.

Re: The non holding the ball free
Lol.
The only shocker in there was the Butler tackle. We had some go our way too, and won the count 22-17.
The supporters are the biased ones, not much logic is required to figure that out.

Re: The non holding the ball free
It is not a legal possession if it brushes your foot, they have been paying them holding the ball all year.
That decision and the arm chop by Wilkie were massive errors by the same umpire and changed the momentum of the game both times.

Re: The non holding the ball free
Agree was appalling performance by Stevic and his mate number 26 .
King was blocked , held multiple times , pulled off the ball …hence not going again this year.
AFL don’t care ..if I go …save the aggravation…every year the same …we are continually belted by umpires .
Chris Scott or Hardwick would be whining about it if King was in either of their teams little doubt.

Mundy punched it with his fist, just the front of his fist, not sure if the rules designate which part of your fist you must use?CURLY wrote: ↑Sun 10 Jul 2022 5:40pm

Wilkie did have his left hand over the shoulder / round the arm, so soft but was something there.
Jones’s shoulder made contact with the Freo blokes chin, so again something there.
22-17
