It's easy to dominate against us though. Has he dominated against other sides consistently?
As ex-president Peter Summers said:

Re: GT on the news
I’d rather an onfield fix
Do you think any coach could get this list into top 4 contention?
We MUST improve the list
Much more important than whoever coaches us
You tell me a s*** list that’s won a flag?!
I’ll tell you a s*** coach that has, and what’s more I’ll give you numerous premiership coaches that have failed at clubs
Coaches winning premierships is a huge misnomer- teams win them

I think good coaches and good teams win flags
A good coach can certainly bring a talented side together and instill a structured game plan that brings out and accentuates the talents of the playing group
A good coach doesn’t take 3 years to fix and develop a plan to transition the ball from d50 to attack OR keep reverting to the tired old plan he has 3 years ago that’s now been utterly worked out
Ofcourse he needs the right cattle but this list is better than 2 goals in a half of football
I doby accept they’re all suddenly Nth level
“Yeah….nah””

One season & they couldn't give him the lemon & sarse quick enough - Old Xavs went 5 or 6 straight after cutting him out.
I do appreciate his comments in this incidence as much as I see the irony in them.
I've mentioned King's body language before (very Matthew Richardson like) as well as Howard carrying on like a "B" grade soccer goalie. Both need to be stronger and disciplined in their attitudes.

Yeah it’s a bad look. Real bad look.
The recruitment of Brad Hiil and Brad Howard have put the club back 20 years.

Re: GT on the news
Didn’t GT leave Old Xavs to take up the Footy Manager position at North?
He was involved in the sacking of Schimmelbush and replaced him with Pagan
A good coach helps and is important
But the coach with the best players will have the most success
Is Goodwin the best coach currently in the AFL?

GT coached us to 3 finals series in a row
First time since Allan Jeans
Given a little luck with injury, could be a premiership coach?

He took the club from 15th in 2001 too a Preliminary Final in 2004 , yeah what a unskilled country bumpkin he was who brought nothing to the table and only got the job because of his "mate"suss wrote: ↑Mon 27 Jun 2022 8:40pm… says the guy who, with zero experience, was appointed senior coach by his mate.Sebastian Tombs wrote: ↑Mon 27 Jun 2022 8:34pm Grant making some very good points on Twitter

Nobody has taken responsibility for this debacle. Lethlean makes decisions like this as well as appointing his mate List Manager (no recruiting or list experience prior) and we wonder why there are problems

Sacked after a year at North. Then one year under Alves. Then he went to Warrnambool.
Seems we've had a few coaches who, can be argued, needed a little luck to become a Premiership coach - is that the most important player on a list, "a little luck"?

Are you casting aspersions at Pauline Hanson????SydneySainter wrote: ↑Mon 27 Jun 2022 9:36pmAt least have some experience in coaching at the top level, be that as an assistant or skills coach, whatever. If you’re running a multi-million dollar business that employs close to 100 staff, would you employ someone whose management background was running a successful fish and chip shop as the general manager?

That's why in the NBA they love it if you've coached at g-league or college level, as opposed to just being an assistant coach for 10 years.
So going by that how did Nick DalSanto became the AFLW coach? was it the 3years of "man management" where he got to tell teenagers how many laps of the oval to run or maybe it was his skills moving witches hats , but I'm sure that the process was very thorough and this can't be put down as a "job for the mates"

So half the cast of Saintsational can bag the club week in and week out but if Grant tells some home truths, he is an old fat guts turd who should never have been a saints coach. Yeah....right.

GT is like an off-field version of Brad Hill
He is a lightening rod needed to earth lighting bolts emanating from the storm clouds above, inhabited by the broken and wounded St Kilda spirits...
You're quite brilliant Shane, yeah..terrific!

Re: GT on the news
Agree GT is disgruntled
He is a StK fan - unless he’s an apologist- why wouldn’t he be?’
Just because he says things we don’t want to hear, doesn’t make them untrue?!
He just tells it how it is… most saints fans tell it how they want it to be… and they are in serious denial!
The club has been mismanagement for most of its history!

Spot on B.M
Good to see some home truths coming out.
I referred to the finger pointing and body language amongst other things in a post on Sunday evening.
It is NOT all smooth sailing at our club tough decisions need to be made at all levels.

Re: GT on the news
Who would you sooner look after your dog while you're on vacation? Ratten or GT?
Ratten.
Who would have a better chance of taking the Saints to ultimae glory?
GT.
Granted the AFL's handouts are no doubt conditional on ticking off every major appointment (which is how we got Lethlean) so seeing GT at the club in any capacity is probably a non-starter, unless he can personally solve the debt problem.
