It could be brilliant or a disaster and you live or die by the result.

In most instances, these gambles don’t pay off. But clubs that swing and succeed win premierships. Take this St.Kilda… add a fit and firing Amon and DeGoey whilst bringing in another promising kid.

I think your observation he was appearing to signal his intention to eat a person -- a female person to be specific -- is popular consensus.

Given that De Goey is such a polarising figure I'm not sure he will be the answer to our prayers. Most definitely, St Kilda badly needs to bring in an experienced, proven midfield gun. He certainly attracts a lot of media attention, but mainly for the wrong reasons, so I would be very surprised if the club is going to bid for his services if Collingwood show him the door at the end of the year.

We should remember that neither Hannebery nor Hill, both big name players and paid a motza, and in the latter's case a high trade price, have both failed to deliver on their promise. Big name recruits don't come with a money back guarantee, the club gets stuck with them if they don't work out and for that reason alone I don't think De Goey is worth the gamble.

I would much rather see the club grab hold of Tim Taranto who is in his final year on contract with GWS, an absolute gun without any personal baggage, and rely on some of the up and coming young blokes, Wanganeen-Milera, Windhager and Owens to develop into strong mids.

Taranto would cost us 2 FRDP’s and if we are lucky we might get a third RDP coming back. De Goey is a FA so would not cost us any draft picks at all. You need to factor that in

I've listened to him today lead the chorus of lynchers and absolutely run a poor human being into the ground relentlessly pushing his moralistic virtue signalling, someone needs to call him out, the slimly little prick works for an organisation that prides itself on wall to wall long legged blond woman being the hook for generations of men and that is largely funded by the proceeds of gambling and the sale of booze. Similarly to the treatment he orchestrated against the cricketers during the sand paper event, he is an authorised bully and needs to be called out for it.
