Have you ever seen someone spoil the ball back towards the goal square more than him? Don’t bother the answer is no. Good defenders kill the ball when they spoil. Defenders with no brains spoil it back into play.

The backline was exposed by a midfield that got beaten and wasn't prepared to run both ways. Most of Essendons forward entries we by players with space and time to run freely with the ball while our mids watched from the centre of the ground. Hunter Clark was cooked by quarter time. Zak Jones refused to take the first handball option, as did Greaham
