Billings being dropped would be a statement... I think you’d either have to treat it as one ahead of time or weasel out if the issue by ‘resting’ him.
I tend to agree that it’s unlikely he’ll be dropped.

Ratten generally isn’t too quick to crack the whip and the reality is that Billings has just come back into the side and has one good performance and a mediocre. It’s a generally accepted concept in football that when returning from a long lay off, players tend to struggle more the second week then the first due to the recovery.

Maybe he has hopes for Windhager and Owens as grunt midfielders while Steele is out. Don’t know what is up with Bytel. Perhaps can’t spread enough?
