Hopefully his game at Sandy on Sunday makes the same statement.samuraisaint wrote: ↑Sun 22 May 2022 12:04amHunter Clark needs to come in mate.

I only saw the highlights.
And Sharman was in two of them.
He reached up and took a really nice mark. Like a mark most of our players would not take bar Membrey and King...maybe Doogs and Wilks.
And he nailed a set shot from 50.
I liked that.
And it is rare.
It gives the oppo something to worry about.
Better than a so called 'defensive forward'...
But I like Butler.
We nearly lost tonight..it was touch and go.
You're quite brilliant Shane, yeah..terrific!

Re: Changes v North
Premature speculation. Let’s see who plays well tomorrow. I would have thought Higgins is a lock to come back in after his compulsory 12 days off ( assuming he is ok ), but beyond that …. ??? P

Re: Changes v North
Long- 3 kicks, 1 handball, really quiet indeed.
Webster- 50 m penalty, kick on full under no pressure, needs a VFL stint

Webster, Billings and Long might need some Sandy time.
Highmore, Owend and Byrnes are ready. We'll see how the first 2 go tomorrow.

Re: Changes v North
We need another genuine mid.
Windy good on the outside, but not yet ready to play inside for large chunks.
If Bytel plays well againts Carlton, then he should be tried. Steele is not coming back for a while.

Hard to drop Long or NWM for the second Indigenous round.
Webster looking shaky.
They'll probably drop Sharman for Higgins which will be a shame.

Re: Changes v North
Long had a quiter game tonight but his pressure was immense. if Butler or Higgins are fit next week I would move Long back to a HBF and play Sinclair as a permanent mid. Wood or NWM are probably who I would leave out if Clark is ready to return.
What was promising tonight was Marshall was starting to display the form we know he can play. If he can have a dominant 2nd half of the year it will go a long way to us making the top 4.

Out: Sharman, Long.
In: Higgins, Clark (so long as he gets through Sandy game in reasonable fashion)

Re: Changes v North
We had a lot of players down on form last night. It is an opportunity to reward those playing well at Sandy and set a selection benchmark.
Wilkie, Sinclair and Paton were our best defenders, outside of the Crows poor kicking.
Webster gets caught ball watching or sucked up the ground meaning the likes of Sinclair and Paton are forced to cover an extra forward. I think he may lose his spot to Highmore or Lienert.
Wood may get squeezed out by Clark (unlucky).
NWM may lose his place to one of Owens, Higgins or Butler. Personally I'd choose Owens and give Higgins & Butler the extra two weeks.

Out:
NWM
Wood
Webster
In:
Clarke
Higgins
Bytel
Butler to rest Achilles
I’d keep Long and Sharman in if possible- forward pressure the issue
We need another contested ball winner to help Ross/Crouch badly…..Lions will kill us
I’d like to see Bytel really stand up today and kick the door down
Maybe Windhager to wing - part mid
Clark in to HB ?
Too many passengers last night
On notice:
Long
Billing’s (second game so benefits of doubt)
Sharman- just has to do more …could he play wing roam into fwd 50 take Wood role?

Re: Changes v North
We missed a Steele "like for like".
Either Bytel or Owens for NSM based on sandy game today.
Clark may need to come in and based on last night, we could drop any one of about 10 under performers.
I think those that have some credits in the bank might get a reprieve.

Yes, I haven't watched the match but see he only had 2 turnovers.
How is this forgiven?

I think Long, Billing’s etc get another crack at it due to points in bank
Wood just doesn’t do enough for me
Webster- struggle to lockdown small forward like Patton can…if Highmore plays well today you’d have to have a look
NWM just needs time in twos to get balance between I sure/outside right (he looked lost to me last night). Right now Windhager doing enough inside/outside to retain his spot
Clarke/Higgins are certainties to come in
We desperately need another Steele/inside replacement to help Crouch ….Bytel been around a while….MUST step up now …
Owens has time
I’d love Connolly to also bob up with a cracking game I really rate good users and he’s one!
