Re: Sam Fisher story in Herald Sun
Retired St Kilda defender Sam Fisher, who was too ill to appear in court, has been charged with trafficking a commercial quantity of illicit drugs.
The retired St Kilda defender was charged with trafficking large commercial quantities of illicit drugs after investigators searched a Bay Road address in Sandringham early on Wednesday morning.
Police seized drugs, including meth and 1,4-Butanediol, as well as a Mercedes Benz which has been alleged to be the proceeds of crime.

Re: Sam Fisher story in Herald Sun
Is he ill because he sampled too much product or because he's been told he's a monty for a room at a government sponsored boarding house.
The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

Re: Sam Fisher story in Herald Sun
As others have suggested there was always similiar murmurings around Chips and other players at the club during his time. He was never the smartest cookie and they get hooked on living that 'rock star' lifestyle. He apparently didnt have the business background to fund himself and spiralled into dealing. Its pretty sad, but an all too familiar story...

Says that he wanted to stay in custody
Maybe worried that a few big hitters could be gunning for him?

Re: Sam Fisher story in Herald Sun
My bet would be that he was pbly unlikely to get bail in the first instance. You only really get one opportunity at bail unless something changes so rather than take a low % swing, chances are that his solicitor will review the evidence, get some type of rehab/detox lined up for him to go to, essentially line his ducks in a row and then go for bail.
It’s a fairly common strategy

Re: Sam Fisher story in Herald Sun
From my Year 11 Legal Studies, if you post bail and end up being found guilty, you lose the bail.
He can't afford it?
Also...the sentence will include time already served, on remand.
Saynta knows a lot more about the legal system than me, he'll be able to clarify

Re: Sam Fisher story in Herald Sun
You must have been asleep when they gave the talk on bail because that is just not true. You lose the bail money if you piss off. Time served on remand usually comes off the head sentence.WellardSaint wrote: ↑Wed 18 May 2022 9:58pmFrom my Year 11 Legal Studies, if you post bail and end up being found guilty, you lose the bail.

Re: Sam Fisher story in Herald Sun
If found guilty I think Chips is looking at a reasonable stint inside - absolute idiot. Hopefully this is a wake up call to a lot of other young men who think they can dabble without consequence.

Maybe does not have the resources of people close enough to him to past the required amount.
Perhaps the Saintsational crowd could pass the hat?

Remanded time served sits against the sentence - so starting it earlier so to speak.
Another AFL payers down the drug route. This quality testing policy they have one cant be surprised.

I know perspective is all different for different people, but generally, would you think that the period 2000-2010 was a real peak for illicit drug use among footy players?
You're quite brilliant Shane, yeah..terrific!

If Fisher owes money in the underworld, the lock-up cells, in remand or in prison, is the last place he would want to be.
