Sharman had Stewart. Commentary even mentioned the job he did on him.

NO IFS OR BUTS HARVS IS KING OF THE AFL
Re: Sharman
Mind you, Membrey could have held that mark across half back late in the game
We really did gift them some goals with disposals and not completing marks
Plus we missed some set shots late which should have seen a more comfortable win
Plus King had his hands to a few he could not complete
Adelaide - and this is a must win game so best side available on the park
We will miss Steele’s size around the contest which is a concern to me
Plus Steele can take an overhead grab - a point of difference from our other mids including (unfortunately) Ross who does have size
Crouch and Gresham did well and Jones improved
So pressure will be on them over the next couple of months to fill the void left by Steele
That said, we are not a one man side so fingers crossed that that assessment is found accurate

Re: Sharman
For a young fella with only a few games under his belt, there looks to be some class to work with. Forget stats or who he played on, those with some footy nous can see a potential player there. Hope he works hard, is managed well and gets more opportunities. We never know what we might have here.

Re: Sharman
If it was on the 3/4 time siren the ball came to Members from Seb. Just watched that third qtr again. Seb was massive in that. As was Gresh. And Crouch. Our mids really got on top.Jacks Back wrote: ↑Mon 16 May 2022 10:38pmI can't remember now - probably.WellardSaint wrote: ↑Mon 16 May 2022 6:42pmWas the Skunk goal, after the long kick by DMack?Jacks Back wrote: ↑Sun 15 May 2022 10:26am I noticed on a few occasions that Sharman was in the clear inside 50 but the player bringing the ball in chose a longer option - One of those was to the pocket to Membrey who kicked a goal but Sharman was by himself 30 metres out directly in front.

Re: Sharman
I can tell you straight up
Stewart lined up on a wing - often on McKenzie - I know because it was about 30-40 meters from where I was sitting.
Stewart did start back occasionally, but often on the wing floating back

Re: Sharman
He did have Stewart as commentary noted
He was also in space several times not used
Don’t forget - we have a side used to looking up and seeing Butler….they now need to look up and see we not only have King…..Sharman is a genuine option
I just hope we do t go back to small forwards footy - play him we’ll be far more dangerous for it

I hope he stays in, as it lets Skunk off the leash
Sharman is a natural footballer with a great footy IQ.
I was concerned about his pre season but he seems to elevate his performance when he has better players around him.
I’m not a fan of us going with 3 small forwards, Cooper gives a nice balance to help out King and Membrey.

Re: Sharman
Probably not that relevant, but the official stats suggest that Stewart had the most disposals among the Cats.

All good relevant points. Pisses me off no end when supposedly good marks drop simple ones.Killa wrote: ↑Mon 16 May 2022 8:16pm Mind you, Membrey could have held that mark across half back late in the game

Re: Sharman
The way Membrey covers territory he basically plays as a winger who gets deep at both ends when required.
I'd like to see him (Membrey) take Woods role if that means slotting Sharman into the forward 50 more regularly.
