Team against the Crows
Steele and Higgins definite outs.
The easy bit: Windhager surely a definite selection in the top 22.
That leaves another spot unless there are other injuries we don't know about or it the club is going to drop someone (surely not after a great win).
How ready is Clark? I suspect not quite yet, so I wouldn't be surprised to see him be held back for the game against the Roos.
Has Butler recovered? If so, I reckon he'd be the first choice. If not, then I reckon Byrnes woudl be the best fit: he seems to have the right skillset to play predominantly as a small forward.

Re: Team against the Crows
Agree with your points
Reckon windy is a certainty
Suspect Clark will be given one more week. No need to rush a player of that quality imo
So then it is out of Owens Byrnes Bytel and maybe butler
I reckon butler sits out another week tbh
So perhaps one of those 3 young guns?

Re: Team against the Crows
Of course, there is also NWM in the mix. He could come in along with Windhager, but that would necessitate a little bit of structural change.MC Gusto wrote: ↑Mon 16 May 2022 2:25pm Agree with your points

Re: Team against the Crows
Sinclair into the middle I'd think so possibly Connely to come in across half back.

Re: Team against the Crows
They had a pretty intense half game hit out - so we will see how Clark pulls up
As Ratts said, he got the ball at VFL level but was not up to pace across facets
That will come and quickly, because he is an elite player skilled on both sides
With a shoulder he has not had ball in hand for a period

Re: Team against the Crows
Outs: Marshall, Steele and Higgins
Ins: Clark, Windhager and either Campbell or Heath
Apparently Marshall is still sore, so why wouldn’t we rest him until after the bye to make sure he’s ready for the back half of the season. We recruited Campbell for this very reason, but I’d be happy if we threw Heath in for a couple of games.

Re: Team against the Crows
I'd be surprised if Butler is back. I'm no doctor but hard to imagine any issue with an Achilles only being a week.
OUT: Steele, Higgins
IN: Windhager, Byrnes
Medi-sub: Lienert or Owens
Allows NWM another week off. He can return against the Roos.

Re: Team against the Crows
Clark is definitely playing VFL next week.
Windy for Higgins
Byrnes for Steele

The bad advice that has guided the selfish and culpable James Hird has not only punctuated this saga but symbolised it..."

Re: Team against the Crows
Geary for Higgins.
Windhager for Steele.
Byrnes sub.
The loss of onfield leadership with Steele out can't be underestimated.
As much as I think Geary's outside our best 25, this when we need him. Defensive forward, strong leadership, can hit the scoreboard.
Windhager for Steele.

Agree on Windhager in for Steele.
NWM for Higgins.
Byrnes and Bytel unlucky but would need to replace one of Crouch, Ross, or Jones for a spot.

Assuming Clark is not considered ready.
Out: Steele, Higgins (both inj).
In: Windhager, Wanganeen-Milera.

Re: Team against the Crows
Thought Webster & Wood were handy without being stars so I can't see either missing out . Windy in for sure & maybe Butler if fit if not Byrnes . If Marshall doesn't come up Battle as the back up ruck man IMO his mobility is more value than Campbells size & Highmore to take Battles spot . Obviously hypothetical but that's my take . Would like NWM & Bytel to get a gig as well but for team balance I don't think we can fit them in

Re: Team against the Crows
For me it’s a no brainer. Obviously Windhager. But also NWM. It’s indigenous round, I reckon the club managed him so he would play this weekend. Was poor against the Dees but had plenty of mates. Before that has been good

Team against the Crows
I agree. The club let NWM do an interview about wearing a Nicky Winmar jumper with Nicky’s number. Would be cruel to not let him play after that.Moods wrote:For me it’s a no brainer. Re: Team against the Crows
Coach has ruled out Clark and indicated owens and bytel still have a bit of work to do
Reckon you guys are right - could be NVM straight back in with Windy
Perhaps Byrnes emergency

Re: Team against the Crows
Some saying Campbell?
Battle, although shorter, is a much better option than Campbell.
Campbell offers nothing around the ground- liability
