Port have got their Mojo back damn it.
I know it is one week at a time but it looks as though they have their mojo back.
St Kilda should never trade with Essendon and Sydney ever again!!!

West Coast are struggling, they are playing like witches hats who are sagging. I hope Port fill their boots, hit all their locals over the next 4 days getting drink cards, spend the week reading the S.A. press & arrive in Cairns with backs well & truly slapped.

Port win by 84 points, that's a confidence booster for the sods.
The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

Re: Port have got their Mojo back damn it.
I thought to myself before the game that it could be sponsored by Astra Zeneca or Novartis. I watched the first quarter over a couple of pots in town and it was crap footy. Port obviously hit top gear while I was seeking specials at Dan Murphy's because it was a massacre by the time I got home to watch the last quarter.
Port has far too much talent to be playing as poorly as it has been, so no surprise with the result. On the other hand Old Father Time, COVID issues or not, is the Eagles biggest problem. He has a knack of turning greatness into mediocrity in the blink of an eye.
Every game is a danger game for the Saints but it appears injuries to Allir Allir and Robbie Gray won't harm our chances.

Gray was taken off for precautionary purposes, game was already safe that's how poor WCE were & are.
Aliir finished the game playing in the last quarter, he looked fine so I'm unsure what injury he may have.

I didn’t see the game, but I heard the commentators summing it up after the game on MMM.
Tom Rockliff said it was the most uncompetitive effort by WC he’s ever seen during and post his career. Sounds like it’s hard to gauge exactly how good Port were because WC were so poor

Re: Port have got their Mojo back damn it.
I am not confident of winning this one although I think it will probably turn out like our 2020 match against them which we won comfortably.
However, It wouldn't matter whether they won today or not - we have been playing them back into form since 2012 - with one notable exemption - 2020.
We've only beaten them once in the past thirteen attempts, so we have been warned.
Port in Cairns is absolutely must win, because our fixture's difficulty trajectory becomes extremely steep after it.
But it won't be easy.

How do we match up with them historically Samurai?samuraisaint wrote: ↑Sat 23 Apr 2022 10:24pm I am not confident of winning this one although I think it will probably turn out like our 2020 match against them which we won comfortably.

Teams rarely play well after soft kills
We are such a better team than port
Cairns is the problem, if it was in melb we would win for sure

Re: Port have got their Mojo back damn it.
They have won double the amount of games (22) we have won against them (11), and we have now won more games against the Suns since 2011 than we have against Port since 1997, so not good.shanegrambeau wrote: ↑Sat 23 Apr 2022 10:30pmHow do we match up with them historically Samurai?samuraisaint wrote: ↑Sat 23 Apr 2022 10:24pm I am not confident of winning this one although I think it will probably turn out like our 2020 match against them which we won comfortably.

However of their 22 wins against us, 12 have been since 2012 so it is all recent history.
We seem to have problems in getting ourselves sufficiently up against them in games, and we don't finish off games against them properly. Three times since 2012 we have been ahead of them in time on and they have parlayed those into improbable wins against us.
I mean, Robbie Gray is 34 now, and Travis Boak is 33 and we have never found a suitable match up for either of them. Ollie Wines plays well against everyone, and we are no exeption there. I thought we had the better of them in the second game last year during the lockdown, but again, crucial fumbles and mistakes let them in and they were good enough to finish.
Like I said, I think where we are at this point in time, we should win this, and win comfortably, but I see Port as a bit like Essendon and Adelaide; we tend to get their season's going by not turning up and turning in non-competitive performances.
I think they are having a reaction to their poor finals showing last year, and if we play four quarters we'll win, but the whole playing matches in Cairns thing doesn't sit well with me.

If we’re the real deal, we win. If we don’t, then the answer is obvious.
