Jack Hayes - ACL
Say it ain’t so, Joe
Was really excited about seeing him progress over the season. He was our best in round 1. A really good, versatile inclusion into the team this year.

Terrible luck.
Hopefully they keep him around for next year.

Devastating
Club medicos apparently called it immediately and it looked like it on the TV
Big blow to season IMO

Yep sours the evening for sure. Big loss. I loved what he brought. Versatile, tough, kicks a few goals. That’s a hit to our depth.

Hayes is a beauty. Brought us together on field, he'll unite us off field as he recovers. Jack is as "flint hard" as they come & will be with us for a long time.

Re: Jack Hayes - ACL
His last three quarters tonight were as good as any. No sulking away in the rooms, straight to the bench wearing a Saints beany. Hobbling out to the huddles, smiling like a schoolboy having the greatest night of his life. What he did tonight was lift a team that looked beaten and gave them the inspiration to lift and win.
He'll be back next year, Ratts just assured everyone of that in his press conference. Good luck Jack, you are made of stern stuff and have proved a revelation to the Club.

Bad news and bad luck. Hope he’s back even better next season. Good versatile player.

Glad the club got on the front foot with Rats locking him in for next year.
Hope the half time speech was Rats with an arm around Hayes “It’s sad to see such a great kid suffer such a blow. But you are part of our heart and soul and that’s why we are going to sign you up for next season. You’ll be back better than ever because we are all in your corner” followed by cheers from the team…. then “now let’s talk about these contested possession stats”

Ratten basically assuming Hayes will be at the club next year and beyond.
Kent, Joyce, Hannebery and Geary far more likely to make way.
Coffield and Hayes will be able to compete with each other to rehabilitate their knees

Re: Jack Hayes - ACL
I recon Jack is a massive part of our improvement this year, I think he quickly became one of the players we could least lose.
We now need incredible luck with Paddy and RoMa for the rest of tbe season.
I know we have some other options but Jack just has something about him that was beyond acts that get recorded on the stat sheet.
Has taken the gloss of our current position for me.

The footy gods can be such cruel so and so's.
Jack gives 100% effort 100% of the time and hopefully his recovery goes well and we see him back better than ever next season!

Re: Jack Hayes - ACL
He showed enough already to prove that he is worthy of an extended contract, and the club has done the right thing by him and for itself.
I’m not sure that he would have been a regular first team selection if he had nor been injured, so his loss is not catastrophic for our chances this year. But he was a terrific backup player. He’ll definitely be missed.

Shattered for the boy and for us as a team.
He is a bloody good player and kicks goals when they should be kicked unlike many at the club at times.
2 nd ACL for the year with Coffield as well.

Re: Jack Hayes - ACL
We feel the same way Vazelos. Hayes is one of those types that inspire both off and on the field. So unfortunate it is an ACL. He's going to be sorely missed this season.
