Re: Votes v GWS Round 6
5. Battle - cometh the hour cometh the hero. Not the statistically most impressive game but his performance in taking on the ruck role in a crisis won us the game
4. Steele - Captain’s game and the stiffest 4 vote performance ever. Pbly BOG but he did only the excellent things we’ve come to expect, not above and beyond (which for him would be 60 touches)
3. Higgins - Match winner. Was dangerous all night. Could have had 7. If the kid can keep his composure… will win the Coleman
2. Sinclair - consistently excellent all night
1. Ross - stepped up after a poor first half and really did a few big things when the game was there to be one

Re: Votes v GWS Round 6
5. Battle. Enough said.
4. Higgins. The best forward on the ground by a long, long way
3. Wilkie. Terrific all night, outstanding under extreme pressure in the last quarter. Trench warfare at its best.
2. Ross. Lifted the midfield up by the boot straps after half-time, which turned the game our way. Displayed great poise.
1. Steele. Thrives in tough situations and they didn't come any tougher than when repelling the Giants when the game was there to be won.

Re: Votes v GWS Round 6
5. Higgins. f****** brilliant and could have kicked 8. 12 Brownlow point?
3. Steele. Typical captains game. Applies endless pressure to the opposition
3. Crouch. Never stopped trying. Even his kicking has improved
2. Sinclair. What can you say. Exception game once more from an elite player.
1. Battle. Along with Higgins changed the course of the game. Has developed into one of our best
1. Ross. Great game Can we stop all the rubbish about Seb's disposal which has been excellent this year.

5. Higgins. We’d have lost without his three-goal third quarter. Uncanny how he reads the play and makes opportunities out of very little.

Great team effort. I thought Crouch had an impact all day. I thought Marshall was best on ground before he copped the corky. Steele is becoming a great leader who also leads by example. Higgins deserves credit, but he is the beneficiary of a lot of work up the ground. Apologies to Dougs, Wilkie, Hill, Skunk, and Benny Long

It was a gutsy win when GWS came to play. They made it a real in close contested game, which we had trouble dealing with in the first half. Marshall went ok until he got the corky but then the GWS rucks dominated the taps. It sounded like Marshall carried a corky into the game so it was a gutsy effort by him. But then Battles intercept marking, kicking and ability to go into the ruck was huge for the last 40 minutes.
Special mention: Seb Ross is a different player this year, his kicking has gone to another level as has his gut running and clearance work. Brilliant stuff Seb.

Re: Votes v GWS Round 6
Speaking of Sebby’s disposal…Did you see the 30m kick inside 50 on his non preferred which hit Jack Higgins on the chest?
The footy even spun the right way before hitting his team mate lace out.
Great feature of last night was our tackling. We were brutal. I love the guys who chase and harass and hit hard. Battle, Crouch, Steele, DMac, and RoMa and Benny Long and even Seb

Re: Votes v GWS Round 6
We won the game in the clinches. If we hadn't matched them in the trenches in the second half, we would have lost the game. The forwards would not have the opportunity to kick a winning score.
Thus all 5 recipients were in the midfield.
Such a guts effort Saints. Well done. A team of blue-collar soldiers beat all the first round draft choices.
I save an extra vote to Battle who gave everything without any complaint.
