Someone said corkie, which would be the best case scenario.

Giants getting nothing out of their ruck advantage, woeful, thankfully.
The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

Re: Match Thread Saints v Giants Round 6 2022
Feels like we got away with one tonight. Some good things but many more poor IMO.
To their credit a lot lifted in the second half, tho some didn’t.
10.17 is unacceptable, back to the bad old Richo days.
But don’t they say good teams win ugly?

I tell you what. We’re uncooth! We’re dynamic! We’re f****** hard to read. We might not have the heralded class but we’ve got a lot of options that can cover the ground. We had no ruck!!

I think we need to cut them some slack
Lost both Hayes and Marshall for essentially for a half
Was a big slog and skills weren’t great both ways so I suspect it was slipperier then one might think

Super gutsy win, now we have Port up in Cairns.

Hats off to Ratten and his team. Great tactical response to adversity. Excellent stuff!

Steele was absolutely immense
Shout out to Battle as well
Well done Sainters .... found a way to win under immense pressure .... that 3rd quarter was superb

Richo looked better holding a cigarette at the Windsor Castle (& sounded better) than he ever did holding a microphone.

But we looked better when Marshall went off and Battle moved to the ruck in the 3rd!?

Re: Match Thread Saints v Giants Round 6 2022
we can critique our own players when they make mistakes and we'd all agree that's part of supporting footy. likewise we can critique the umps when they make mistakes and all bar a strange few agree that's part of supporting footy. what i don't get is those that defend the umps but hammer our players.
still, each to their own.
we had a good win in the end. made it harder than it had to be perhaps, but that was the type of win that can be the difference in playing finals or not.

Hopefully they pull either Heath or Campbell from tomorrow’s VFL game as insurance for next week in case Marshall doesn’t get up

At the last ballup, Mason Wood contested it - just stood there and it fell into his hands - and he dropped it.

Impressive win by the boys with the rucks out. Also keeping Toby Greene to a low impact was very well done by our backline. Not a sexy win, but definitely good for the confidence. Is Heath a chance or will it be Paddy and Campbell?

Spot on & that goes to the chicken or the egg quandry in the other thread.desertsaint wrote: ↑Fri 22 Apr 2022 11:38pm we can critique our own players when they make mistakes and we'd all agree that's part of supporting footy. likewise we can critique the umps when they make mistakes and all bar a strange few agree that's part of supporting footy. what i don't get is those that defend the umps but hammer our players.

Re: Match Thread Saints v Giants Round 6 2022
Been really critical of the club on here for years. Nothing to be critical about at the moment! That is the best win we’ve scrapped together in recent memory. We had no right to win that game but we pulled through. Inspiring stuff.
Also how bad are GWS? They could very likely be 1-8. With their list that’s unforgivable. Cameron’s gotta go.
Anyway who cares GO SAINTS!!!

Huge second half from Ross. Sinclair, and Steele. Battle was very important, as well . Jack Higgins is a damn good small forward

I'd guess Paddy & Campbell against Port, a hard team need to be pounded & a the foot needs to stay on their throat.SaintJohno wrote: ↑Fri 22 Apr 2022 11:42pm Impressive win by the boys with the rucks out.
