I'm quietly confident about this game. Would have been nice if TG was out for another week as he usually comes back well but I've got a sneaking suspicion that the coach has lost the players. 9 years and no flag, with that list, is indefensible. They should have had 2 by now. His contract is up and Leon is a dead man walking IMO and the players aren't playing playing like they want him to continue there.

As we know all too well as Saints fans, the team has an uncanny knack of letting us down in the prime time slots and when expectation has paid us a visit.Beno88 wrote: ↑Tue 19 Apr 2022 8:57am St Kilda have won just 5 of 22 Friday night games in the last decade, and have won just once in Canberra.
On the upside, we are 2-0 vs GWS on Friday nights and our only win in Canberra came against them.
We have also not won our first two interstate games of a season since 2009.

will be closer than what appears on paper.
Some of our players are outperforming themselves. It doesnt take much to edge them down a bit and things will not run as smoothly.
Although keep playing the way we are and the Saints can match any of the teams at the moment ....... just dont tell the players that ....

I think it is fair to say that we will have the lion's share of the crowd support in Canberra Friday night.
GWS have only played in Canberra five times since the beginning of 2019 and average crowds of about 10,000 to their 'home' matches at Manuka.
I'm a lot more confident of our ability to win there, than I would be in Macquarie Fields, western Sydney.

I think you are being a tad optimistic there. GWS have a sound supporter base in the national capital.samuraisaint wrote: ↑Tue 19 Apr 2022 12:57pm I think it is fair to say that we will have the lion's share of the crowd support in Canberra Friday night.

Re: We will demolish Greater Western Sydney on every line....
That might be true - but the attendances there in the past still seem a little low for their matches if they do.saynta wrote: ↑Tue 19 Apr 2022 4:12pmI think you are being a tad optimistic there. I think we will see a lot more St Kilda supporters turn out there than we would had the game been played in outer suburban Sydney though. We did in 2019 when we last played there.

Would you go to a night match in Canberra when its 7 f****** degrees?
Only the hardy or the stupid will IMHO.
Especially when there are still over 1000 cases of covid a day in Canberra.
Foxtel for me.
In the past have always attended GWS v Saints games whether in Sydney or Canberra. Not this time.

Put any other credentialled coach in charge of GWS and they have sucess, Cameron is a dud. Any club with the players he has had at his disposal should be top 4 every year.
Their list management has also been shocking, which thankfully we have benefited from.

Is it weird that i know EXACTLY who you are on facebook based on the way you post in this forum? You went through this exact routine last week with Gold Coast. Makes a borderline disrespectful comment about the opposition, then any semblance or rational thought afterwards is taken as not being a real fan or an anti-supporter. Id be shocked if it wasnt the same person i had a talk with on facebook, but could be wrong.SunnyErnie wrote: ↑Sun 17 Apr 2022 7:48pmYou obviously think we will lose?Sainter_Dad wrote: ↑Sun 17 Apr 2022 5:47pmLove your enthusiasmSunnyErnie wrote: ↑Sun 17 Apr 2022 4:13pm The only question mark is the margin.

Re: We will demolish Greater Western Sydney on every line....
They have copped it all week in the press and after a good first half v Melbourne rolled over like a $2 .....
Coach under the pump Greene back (equivalent to Steele for us in regard to lift), and Pruese makes them better.
I am expecting a dog fight and anything less than our best effort wont be enough.
IF we bring the intensity from the START and maintain it i can however see us cracking them late in the 3rd and potentially a 4 goal win.
Webster to Green for me as better overhead than Paton IMO.
Forward pressure critical as good ball users off half back however also are a bit outside - Whitfield, Haynes.
To me this is a real test as on the road , expected to win against a list which is talented but teetering - good sides will take care of business . Time will tell
