Re: We will demolish Greater Western Sydney on every line....
Time to start believing.
We are up and running. GWS are struggling.
Greene is one player. One player wont win it for them.
Our team defence is working across the whole ground.
Our forward setup is the most efficient in the comp.
This group is coachable and can adjust throughout the game.
Our mids are all in good form.
Our F50 looks dangerous with almost every entry. If its not King, its Higgins, if it's not Higgins its Timmy, if its not Timmy, it's Butler.. etc etc.
Trust them to get the job done and fly home with the four points. That's all this is.

Re: We will demolish Greater Western Sydney on every line....
It will be a tough game and a demanding test for us and for Ratten's skill as a coach.
The current forecast is for a bit of cloud and drizzle and an overnight minimum of 9, which means that it will be a bit miserable, but not desperately cold during the game (probably 12 degrees or thereabouts. The ball will be slippery, which means that it will probably be a low-scoring game: in which case, the umpiring will be a significant factor in deciding the outcome, and that's unlikely to be especially helpful (although the Freo game was a surprise). In the conditions, Greene will be a threat to us: but then Higgins, the way he is going at the moment, will be a significant threat against them. And we've got Butler and Gresham as well. But, on paper, the teams look pretty evenly matched. Anyone who writes the Giants off is being foolish.
We somehow need to find a way to avoid getting behind by a couple of goals early on. In slippery conditions, a 12 or 18 point lead to them will be hard to pull back.
I think it's going to be a difficult game to watch. Hope I'm wrong and we thrash them.

GWS have some seriously good talent in their line up and we will need to be at our best to win.
Rugby League would have to be the stupidest, most moronic and over rated game of all time.

We are in incredible form. GWS are not. They won the clearances and stood and watched while the Melbourne's defence bullied them and their midfield ran passed them.
I'm predicting a double serve for them this week.

I hope you’re both right. I just have this feeling GWS will be wounded, be looking to prove a point and would see us at Manuka under lights as vulnerable.

I'm taking it one week at a time . No point getting too far ahead of ourselves because reality will bring us back to earth as soon as we do. I'm still up beat & happy with how we are travelling ATM but I'm also a realist & know how things can turn pear shaped pretty bl--dy quickly.

We play GWS this week. We are in the best form of a decade and they have been threatening, with little reward, for as long.
Better picks, better pedigrees and better handouts. We are just better.

Leon will have this thread printed, edit out the few words of caution, enlarged, laminated, put up all over the training facilities.
They will come out so fired up.
Gresh and King will certainly cop it and will need well planned protection.
The Footy gods are pondering their position, but it's well known they have little tolerance for hubris.

Toby returning
No Paddy
Thoughts of them competing with Melb
would have started the odds lower
Now the market drives it prices to where they should be.

No matter what the market says IMO it won't be a walk in the park. I'm hopeful but they are a decent team & I take nothing for granted

GWS are back to the wall, so it won't be easy.
At home and Greene lifts them and they have some excellent players.
Last week we played Gold Coast - a bottom 4 side, we are flattered by our ladder position, but playing well.
I have us slight favourites

Re: We will demolish Greater Western Sydney on every line....
St Kilda have won just 5 of 22 Friday night games in the last decade, and have won just once in Canberra.
On the upside, we are 2-0 vs GWS on Friday nights and our only win in Canberra came against them.
We have also not won our first two interstate games of a season since 2009.
