Sure. Attempted murder carries the same penalties in some jurisdictions as murder. You don't get time off for being a bad shot.
Outcomes and injuries mean that judges and juries give different penalties to perpetrators of the same action
Person 1 leaves the pub and gets behind the wheel while intoxicated. Person 1 loses control at a bend and crashes into a tree
Person 2 leaves the pub and also drives their car while intoxicated. Person 2 loses control at a bend and crashes into a house and kills a baby.
Same act, but I guarantee you the judge and jury will give a greater penalty to Person 2, than they will for the guy who committed the exact same action
Actually, if you watch the footage carefully, you'll see that during Day's first 4 or 5 strides he was running in a direction slightly away from Ryder and would have missed Ryder altogether.
But then, in the last two strides he surprisingly turned - changed direction - and ran straight into Ryder.
Ryder had to brace for that contact. He only had a split second left to protect himself.
If he had continued to run slightly away from Ryder, Ryder would have been able to apply a tackle instead - and pressure him in that way.

If Paddy gets suspended because Hall ran into him and got concussed, then St.Kilda needs to ask why the Richmond player whose tackle left Higgins concussed didn't get charged.
Paddy, wasn't even moving when the collision happened.

A really good point. The player elexted to tackle Higgins, Paddy elected to bump. Same argument isn't it?
That is f****** bulls***. Brown gets 1 week for an elbow to the head in an VFL game. Time for that f***wit Filth guy making the decisions for the AFL to piss off.
Hope the Saints appeal.

It's not Paddy's fault he is taller heavier & less agile than the other dude but what else could he f--ing do ? He stopped the bloke changed direction after he kicked it ran straight into him . We have to appeal it's so unjust
