Academy/recruiters
Another young ruckman playing at sandy dragons, tall as Max King but more athletic……and not in our academy? In our own backyard under recruiters noses ready for mid year draft . How many others are under their noses ? Again not good enough Saints

Re: Academy/recruiters
I think they can only be in your academy if one or more of their parents are from overseas. Is that right?

Re: Academy/recruiters
I read about the kid, another Max I think. Above age, playing with the Dragons. I do not think he was eligible for NGA.
That said, I believe we may have another viable NGA midfielder at the end of this season. Fingers crossed they do not raise the non bids to 40 or else we won't get him.

Re: Academy/recruiters
Might help if you understood the rules of the NGA academy before posting .
Can’t believe someone is posting about the quality of how we run our academy given we just recruited Owens, Windhager, Peris and Kyle .

YOUNG TALL ON MID-SEASON RADAR
AN EARLY name has emerged as a contender for the NAB AFL Mid-Season Rookie Draft.
Sandringham Dragons ruckman Max Ramsden has taken the attention of recruiters and last week had 11 disposals, 16 hitouts and five clearances in the opening round of the NAB League season.
Ramden, who turns 19 this month, was eligible for the draft last year and nominated (meaning he qualifies as a mid-season option) but was not taken having played school football with Melbourne Grammar over two COVID-hit years.
But the athletic and nimble 202cm prospect has improved with a pre-season at the Dragons and ran a 6:04 minute 2km time trial. For context, Gold Coast gun Matt Rowell ran 6:17 in his year's draft combine time trial.

The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

Re: Academy/recruiters
Those are hardly tearing a game apart?!
Max King in R1 as a 17yo at Sandy kicked 8g 5b - now that’s tearing it up
This kid can distant run, but whether he can play is yet to be seen
If he is there at the mid season selection
We can still select him

Re: Academy/recruiters
Can’t wait for the day when these boys are playing in the seniors alongside NWM, and Gresh, Longy, and Hill. I’ve been a loud critic of Hill (as have many others) but I think if we can extract over 100 games out of him and if he is around all of that time the benefits he provides as a role model to these guys will be invaluable.
Has Hill got any kids? If he does end up playing 100 for St Kilda, we’ll be the only club he’s played 100 games for

We also have a bloke called Max Heath on our list who I think we hold high hopes for!

3 more seasons at least

Re: Academy/recruiters
Would not hurt to have both. Max squared! Shores up our ruck stocks, especially if Xerri likes the direction our club is heading & still wants to sign.PADDLEPOP1001 wrote: ↑Fri 08 Apr 2022 9:07am We also have a bloke called Max Heath on our list who I think we hold high hopes for!

Re: Academy/recruiters
If he plays every game this season, and ignoring finals he will be on 62 games. So two more seasons after this year could get him there. But yes injuries/loss of form could push it into 3 more.
However his body has been pretty durable so far. 2018 being the only year that he has missed a chunk of games.

Re: Academy/recruiters
Just because the kid plays for Sandringham Dragons doesn't mean we have any more access than any other team.
If the kid is not in out NGA academy, and he is not. Then we don't have special access.
Stop belittling the club dor no reason.

Yes. His daughter was born back in Dec/Jan from memory. Harriet I think. So yeah, bring on 100 games. That would be a win.

Not possible. No way he is more athletic than Max King. King is a freak.
In Springfield, they're eating the dogs. The people that came in, they're eating the cats. They’re eating – they are eating the pets of the people that live there.

Re: Academy/recruiters
I can say for certain Elwood is a gun, about 17
Jet is a small forward, bit of talent, may get on a VFL list in the next few seasons? Currently a fringe player at Bonbeach, where Armo, Dennis Lane and Gilbert play. He’d be about 19

Would be good to pick up a young ruckman midseason to go with heath so they come through together.Ghost Like wrote: ↑Fri 08 Apr 2022 9:38amWould not hurt to have both. Max squared! Won’t Heath come through with Marshall?

Re: Academy/recruiters
In a Sept 2009 article the boys were aged :Sam, 13, Sonny, 7, Jet, 6, Elwood, 3, and Ace, 17 months (with another on the way).
So in Sept 2022 they will be Sam, 26, Sonny,20, Jet,19, Elwood, 16, and Ace and 14 yrs 5 months
