For the sake of our club, Hill has to be dropped
Hill is the elephant in the room. A protected species so it seems. If he is not dropped for next week's game then Ratts needs to be dropped.

St Kilda should never trade with Essendon and Sydney ever again!!!

Decent game vs Collingwood
One of the better players vs Freo
Beaten today
I wouldn’t drop him for that

Re: For the sake of our club, Hill has to be dropped
In another thread, someone said Hill was moved away from HB in the 3rd and Sincs replaced him.
Sincs today (and last week) showed composure and smarts, he must be one of the first picked each week.
I dare say that next year he'll be in the leadership group.
Does the #35 real proud.

Re: For the sake of our club, Hill has to be dropped
Plays an important linking role and is damaging when he is on. He’s not the most physical of players, but it takes all types.
I wouldn’t drop him and would be surprised if Ratts does, particularly after a win like today’s.

Makes too many errors for a supposedly highly skilled player

Re: For the sake of our club, Hill has to be dropped
True. But he is heavily tagged now so more pressure.
For years we had no run. Now with Hill we do.
He cost a fortune. But he gives us run we not have before.
I am very happy with what he does but i am not expecting him to be our best player.

For the sake of Saintsational the instigator of this thread needs to be exposed. Makes too many outrageous statements, never backs them up with facts or evidence. Posts demeaning rot when true Saints supporters should be celebrating a great win by the Club.

Re: For the sake of our club, Hill has to be dropped
Undoubtedly moving Hill off the back line turned the game around. It happened after Richmond scored scored their 12 goal, many scored due to Hill's poor defensive pressure and turnovers. We went on to score 10 goals in a row without Richmond scoring another goal until the last minute of play.

There were similar calls for Battle to be dropped last year, and the reason was the same.
Play a good player out of position and you're wasting a good player.

There are racists among us
Such is Australia
Elections are also won federally by playing the race card in Australia - and pre selection contests

Re: For the sake of our club, Hill has to be dropped
When we have more players that attract a tag like Hill does the better off we'll be. The ball that Hill fumbled in the goal square was actually knocked from his grasp but has been turned into him "squibbing it", that's just people justifying their perception.
In terms of turning the ball over coming out of defence, particularly in the 2nd quarter, I think we had 5 different players all try it and all turn it over.
I will admit we have paid overs for him but we are certainly a better side with him in it, whether he's getting 25 possessions or being tagged. Excellent coaching by Ratts to get him up on to the wing, I hope he stays there.

Re: For the sake of our club, Hill has to be dropped
He was awful yesterday. I can give at least three examples where he cost us goals.
One. Kicking out from goal, straight to the opposition. Two. In the goal square ball spills out to him all he had to do was rush it through, Instead he tried to run with the ball got caught and opposition kicked a goal.
Three. Was given the ball 30 m out with no one around him, kicked it on his left foot scrub the ball and it hit the post.
He’s just not that good.

If the opposition choose to tag Hill, which they did yesterday, it opens up for others.
Hill ran very hard yesterday and was a good contributor albeit a few clangers.

There are racists in every country. Why would you expect Australia to be any different?
This is a footy forum, lets keep it that way.

A thousand times no. He is one of our best players. And certainly no elephant in any room.saynta wrote: ↑Mon 04 Apr 2022 10:51amNO.SunnyErnie wrote: ↑Mon 04 Apr 2022 12:39am Hill is the elephant in the room. A protected species so it seems. No he will bounce back on the MCG where there is more room. I didn't mind seeing him play HFF either...
