Allison was pick 26 and Long was pick 25
Would we trade either of these two for Membrey?

We have never had a win from doing stupid trades either.

I reckon Sudan would be better. Imagine all the athletic 6'5 midfielders we could get.
In Springfield, they're eating the dogs. The people that came in, they're eating the cats. They’re eating – they are eating the pets of the people that live there.

Membrey could play until he is 32/33, he is not a bash and crash player and has shown that he is resilient.SunnyErnie wrote: ↑Mon 28 Mar 2022 10:47pmI do rate loyalty, durability and a very good B+ player. The problem is that when we next challenge Membrey will be retired so why not cash him in if the price is in our favour?D.B.Cooper wrote: ↑Mon 28 Mar 2022 10:43pmIt’s a great idea if you don’t rate loyalty, leadership, durability and a very good B+ grade AFL player.SunnyErnie wrote: ↑Mon 28 Mar 2022 10:01pm a pick in the 20's for Membrey, would you take it?
I would!!! Sharman takes his spot and we use the pick on a mid.
Thoughts???
Does that mean you do not expect us to be challenging for 5 or 6 years?
If so by that logic should we also not be shopping Steele as he is only about 6 months younger than Membrey and will also likely be retired or close to?

I would not be trading Steele!!! Membrey on the other hand I would consider if we could snag a pick better than 25. Sharman would take his spot and with pick 25 we can put to good use.SinCitySainter wrote: ↑Wed 30 Mar 2022 4:35pmMembrey could play until he is 32/33, he is not a bash and crash player and has shown that he is resilient.SunnyErnie wrote: ↑Mon 28 Mar 2022 10:47pmI do rate loyalty, durability and a very good B+ player. I wouldn’t trade him for a pick. Too hit and miss and often followed by wailing and regret.
I would though consider trading him as part of a deal to bring in a top class mid.
It’s all moot though IMO.
Membrey is heart and soul loyalty and I’d be shocked if he was moved on.

See Tim present Jarrod with his jumper in Perth?
I know the topic is a silly wind up but how about we try for a minimum level of respect for our warriors. Tim has been and is great for us.

Let’s just keep everyone
Maybe trade out Gears for pick 9?
It’s why this clubs delusional
You have to give to get
You mightn’t like it but look at what you can cover and get the best deal
We are treading water ffs
It’s no mystery on most occasions over history dudes have rejuvenated through the draft - selecting a string pool of top line kids
Yes “no guarantees player in 20’s better” but there’s also plenty good players beeen picked in 20’s or later - you gotta get the pick right.
Gotta take a risk to improve or we’ll be a 9-15 side for a long time
